My comment DOES make sense. Passive skill points have nothing to do with it. If you've invested all your orbs and what not into say, elemental weapon damage gear (which is quite expensive) then you just may be pushing for a wipe.

On the real side though, I'm sick of starting over. I've been saving my fusings pretty much since the beginning of this Default League so I can finally get a couple six links this time around. I don't see myself grinding over again if they wipe. Especially with the rumbling footsteps of a large red demon drawing near. Feel me?

Then dont start over, play in the Legacy League.

;)
Well, I'm not actually voting for a wipe, but I'm perfectly ok with it. It's a beta, I enjoy playing and maybe helping improve the game. I'm a bit puzzled that some people think they have a right to demand a "not-wipe".
During closed beta... strange, people. Really really strange.
If GGG thinks it's neccessary, be it for balance or for better testing conditions, they should not only be allowed to do so, neither should they do so, but in my opinion they have to do so.

Just two things to the devs:
1. If there is any way, could you please get the patch out by the start of the weekend and not the end of it? ;p
2. I really really hope you worked out a solution for the portcls.sys BSOD?

Neat.
Any AoE skill for claws?

THIS. Though lightning strike is okay with claws.

  • The big monster update. All monsters have had their skills and behaviour changed. The new AI system creates some absolutely brutal fights. I die every time I test the game now, often in scary ways.

I'm not feeling very good about hardcore. There's been almost no discussion of that... dying "every time" is going to make hardcore an exercise in frustration.

Or maybe Chris just sucks at his own game, I dunno :)

Dying from what?

And please don't give the Age Old excuse "Lag Killed Me"
I'm BACK :)

Well, it's not really a guaranteed, constant thing. Players will have to adapt some to counter the new AI, but it's definitely still playable. I've found that the usual charge-in-with-massive-DPS tactic doesn't work as well as it used to.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits!

Well we don't know. I'm basing my concern on what Chris said, I assume he's getting stuck into the harder fights and getting killed. If he's not able to get through a playtest without dying, that's going to spell some problems for hardcore.

You won't see me complaining about lag, I don't get any.

That's good to hear. I like having to use tactics instead of just bull rushing everything. Might kill slower, but staying alive in HC is of course the primary concern.

I think once this drops I'm going to just start a new char like some of the others, so I can see what it's like from the beginning.
I personally like the harder change it is supposed to be HC after all. hopefully now it will take team work or forethought about character build. making lvl to mid 20's or more in 3 hours gets old. it sounds now it may take actual game play and tactics instead of dps charge for the win.
