There are many ways of punishing mistakes or bad player calls without making him/her lose all the time and still keep the game "hardcore" or "hard". " Full ack, but you're about 30 pages late to the discussion. This has been stated often and almost universally agreed to be correct. The discussion is now more nuanced: Is the current implementation of the DP (flat 10% XP loss) good or can it be improved? Which is definitely worth discussing. Some of the posts in this damn long thread are actually interesting and yield good insights. You just have to find them amongst the black-or-white posts of quasi-religious zealots (from both sides). " You're right they wouldn't complain at all because they would be long gone. This is getting to be the most ridiculous troll I've seen in a week or two. The player base would probably immediately drop 80% or 90%. From there it would eventually drop down in a few months to the current size of hardcore. Whatever that is 3%?
