SSF > Trade Leagues
" ...and then if a SSFHCer ALSO plays with just 4 tabs....AND ignores the skill tree.....AND plays zoomed-in, is that player a better POE player...or just insane?.......absolutely! :-) |

I think SSF and Trade require two different skill sets. I don't think one is better than the other.
Honestly as primarily an SSF player, I actually like not caring or even knowing what items are valuable in the "trade meta". It's relaxing. Similarly if I went back to trade league, I don't think I would be rich and good at the game because of my trade prowess... if I had any money at all its because I know how to grind out currency on a budget without having to trade or spend any currency. SSF is like being that small business owner that's good at managing their own shit but doesn't really know or care what's going on outside his flower shop. |

Soo... playing ssf or trade league is bad. Just play path of building instead.
"Bonus points if it is Scion/Witch because they have nice knees. Ranger has ugly knees and other characters are men so playing them would be homoerotic." - CAKE, 10/20/21

" Because this single angle renders all the absolute top competition between SSF and non-SSF useless. Can't make up for trading, can't make up for aurabots, can't make up for other people picking up your currency so you don't need to waste time on that... The time save with a team is literally insane when compared to playing solo. SSFHC beating HC to 100 shows that top tier teams/runners don't value getting that first 100 in HC anymore. SSF also cuts off some essential parts of PoE and introduces a whole new level of rng effect, so I'd argue that non-SSF needs more skill in the game than SSF does. That said, this can be argued both ways and is entirely dependent on what one thinks 'skill' is in relation to PoE. |

" Cool story. You're better than 95% of the people that play this game. Congrats. |

" ....guilty as charged!......still, I do like the whimsy.... |

" Hehe OK, so it's all preference really -- you got me. I was just joking around. But in all seriousness, in my PERSONAL experience -- which is SUBJECTIVE -- SSF is a lot more fun. Take it for what you will. - 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0- 0 * - <

" Granted I've never played a true SSF character. But my first 2 leagues I played I never traded with the exception of my guild mate. And even back then we didn't know what the hell we were doing, so the items he and I swapped were of zero value. Maybe a tabula, but back then we didn't know how to build anything and it still took me like 20 tries to kill Act 10 Kitava. Man it was bad. Last edited by Gulch#5697 on Aug 2, 2019, 1:45:26 PM

SSF is definitely the most challenging and also often more fun, too.
Especially hardcore where you learn to play the game properly. |

" Yup. Anyone who succeeds in SSFHC either really knows their shit or avoids everything remotely dangerous. But even then a random box or lag can kill you unexpectedly so its still "dangerous". Yep, totally over league play.
