Here’s an early look at the Gladiator Ascendancy in Path of Exile: Legion!
20% more movespeed is nothing. If you have 30% then u get what? 6%?... lol, k, so we can forget movespeed even exists.
Its 20% more attack speed, thats gonna = 20% more dps right? Its 4am so someone correct my brain if im not with it but I think thats 20% more dps. ok, fair enough, I hate that its attack speed, I would rather have dps through any other scale than attack speed, and I think for duelist it would make sense to have it through simply damage rather than just being a ranger. Whatever tho, I guess its a thing and it forces u to use the new skills etc to get it. all in all..... ok? its the same class, u sort of lose the damage from the frenzy charges which if u had base 3 was probably about 20% more dps over all but u now can stack it on a boss. My excitement level is essentially 0 but you didnt nerf it or fuck it up so thats a relief. |

" Since your base movespeed is 100%, 20% more movespeed means atleast 20% increased movespeed. During a adrenaline quicksilver itll be closer to 30%. As it is stated the movespeed buff is absurd. I don't know what's going on but having a 2 point node that gives 20% more attack and movespeed, as well as generating charges functionally permanantly and passively if those charges have a baseline value, is heavily overpowered. As far as the rest of the tree, it's literally the same. Small number tweaks, that's it. Every other node will be taken in exactly the same circumstances as it used to be. Yeah, of course ur base is 100%. 14 hours of overwatch my brain is mush and my contact lenses have gone blury, i should know that without being told. ok, so 26% is fairly good and then u get the 20% more dps, as well as it being a block class, but u got to mess with the stance stuffs. Is it op? probably, I mean its poe, I could make and gear a build that can clear 6 mod red maps within 20 hours of starting a new character only having 6 ascendancy points solo self found on a 4 link doing nothing but grabbing basic life nodes and damage, everythings op. as long as the block nodes are left alone and when they eventually come to nerf the class they nerf the silly new node rather than mess with the old ones then fine. I think the gladiator should be about the block though, not be about having crazy movespeed and attack speed, just seems like a really poorly thought out set of buffs. It lacks personality and detracts from the personality of the ranger subclasses. So we have onslaught and tailwind, in practice both of those are just move and attack speed when it really cooks down to what matters to people, and now we have the duelist doing the same thing? kind of lame, is that where it ends up? to make all the classes equally picked we just give them all the same things? If people dont pick gladiator because its a defense class not a damage class then fix ur game so that defenses matter or just admit u cant be bothered and leave the class underpicked just like ur leaving ur game in the shitter by making it a dps whorefest, dont make everything the same, just bribe people to play gladiator "now with 20% added clearspeed!!"? Thats some back of the bus homework if ive ever seen it. I rly should go to bed now cause its just gonna get more grouchy and flippant as we go along. hf all. |

Aside from new "Arena Challenger" node, the only change is - attack speed bonus on small passives was reduced from 5% to 4%, so... Gladiator was nerfed?.. This is big disappointment after all hype you created around "rework" of Gladiator.
Also, still no changes to "Outmatch and Outlast"? This node is outdated since 3.0 patch because, unlike other nodes which support both 'dual wield' and 'shield' playstyle, "Outmatch and Outlast" suited only for 'dual wield' (you cannot gain endurance charges via killing enemies with offhand shield). Totally fits, would kinda be like champion and banners and would add a lot of utility |

You know what GGG, i am gonna bump this thread every day until the expansion hits with new ideas about reworked gladiator nodes. You clearly didn't give any thought about actually reworking an ascendancy nobody plays.
It feels like you made a new skill, thought which ascendancy to slap it on, saw nobody playing gladiator and voila. GUYS WE REWORKED GLADIATOR, THIS IS A BUFF. I feel personally insulted by this rework. I wish in the future you'd call this kind of "rework" a tweak. Here is the idea for today: Heart of the Duelist Double your crit chance against bleeding enemies. Double your block chance against blinded enemies. 10% chance to block You take no extra damage from critical strikes. You cannot use your offhand. Or add "when your offhand is empty" like the white wind dagger stat. It's already in the game how hard is it to implement or come up with it? I guess not that hard, but you balance by the numbers and since nobody plays glad you don't care to actually try and rework glad. You just give them more attack speed and movement speed and say go ZOOM ZOOM my people. For shame GGG. I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. I hate nodes like Painforged and Blood in the Eyes, because they really felt like something you're forced to take to get to what you want, instead of something you genuinely interested in taking.
Painforged is just so, so bad. Counter-attack, that's just great, considering how trash counter attack skills are. Cannot be stunned by hits you block? Other classes get easy stun immunity, Glad only prevent stun IF blocked. 8% chance to block is mediocre at best. Can you confirm one thing that will the blood and sand stance swap skill have a spell tag or not?
