Here’s an early look at the Gladiator Ascendancy in Path of Exile: Legion!
Well, kinda disappointed on this one. It's basically the same thing with the bandaid of the new node which will be a go-to for every single build since it's a totally free dps boost. This will probably result in even less variety in glad builds.
In my opinion a few changes would have the ascendancy way more appealing without changing it's core identity: -Removing the painforged node: as said in a post above, it feels kinda useless and is just a tax to access the interesting blocks nodes behind. So why not just putting versatile combatant behind violent retaliation ? -Giving a possibility to generate charges vs bosses to outmatch and outlast. Glad is currently the last ascendancy with charge's synergies without any reliable mean to generate them. Even chieftain can easily generate endurance charges now, why not glad ? -I never played bleed but i feel the whole bleed branch is underwhelming. So i guess a few improvements would be nice. -Finally maybe a new node related to counter attacks. Since their implementation they have been overlooked (for a good reason)and the only synergy with it is on the half assed painforged node. I guess it's another missed occasion. All in all, the only positive change (beside the new op node) is the generic AS bonus on the small passives, but i'm not sure it will open for a lot of diversity considering the rest of the tree. | |
" Right. Within the four minutes if this going up and you making your post, you read through and comprehended all of the "changes" and didn't just post a positive comment giving GGG the benefit of the doubt. You know, the opposite of everyone else's reaction to this whelming reveal. Peace, -Boem- (2-3-2019) Buff underused skills (3.23?!)+ selfcast, stop nerfing defense, build in threshold jewels (3.23?!), implement D3-style looting, add death log + MTX preview, actually rework flasks, stop balancing around the .01%, unnerf Harvest, ADD NEW WAYS TO LEVEL, finally implement Loot 2.0

" Exactly huuge nerf and they are balancing melee? Probably not in this universe. |

My bad it's still there. Fortunately.

" what are you arguing exactly? The fact i can read 30+ short sentences in under four minutes and have the comprehension to make a judgement based on what i read???? Or that i found the gladiator class to be a solid arche-type already and this just gave it another strong side option to go for??? Yes, sorry to disappoint, i did both of those things in under four minutes.
Spoiler
deal with it?
Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" I guess 40/40 on challenges doesn't translate to 20/20 insight on ascendancy changes. Thank goodness there are limits to no-lifers and their "we are superior" to all other players attitudes. I hate the "grind forever or get out now" attitudes of some players as if players with limited time (or those that just don't want to no-life PoE) shouldn't be playing. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

Don't really like this one :(

Man this is hardly a rework.
A new type of 'charge' that gives...att speed and movement speed?wtf?we have frenzy charges no? No other major addition or change? wtf? |
|
Arena Challenger is on theme with other ascendancies getting skill-specific nodes. They're also good for anyone who's not going the bleed route and didn't get much benefit from the last two ascendancy points.
I like that the minor nodes are now universal, but GGG could have gone the extra step and made the block nodes universal too, for staff builds. Possibly they specifically don't want to do that. Violent Retaliation could also be changed to attack damage and still be on theme. Overall an improvement, but not a game changer. |

I also am not feeling the Blood and Sand Gladiator here. It doesn't really do anything with that other then decide how you will gain a charge. How is that an archetype that was put on the legion page?
