Okay so they've just destroyed what's probably the most frequently used CWDT setup in the game (CWDT + Immortal Call) and everyone's like "oh cool" or "neat!"

I'm not sure if people have quite realized what this means for squishy characters who really lean on that CWDT.

Also, I don't primarily play melee, but so far I'm seeing only nerfs to melee defences? No changes to armour, all meaningful defensive measures can now only be manually cast.

Not sure this big melee "rework" is going to work out the way people want it to.

IC not being complete phys immunity is... Very, very sad. I suppose it was inevitable, but it also seemed okay in the context of other interesting things like Juggernaut healing from physical damage negated, or Blood Rage + Soul of Arakaali.

As far as what phys squishy characters are supposed to do, I'm wondering if they'll make it easier to get more reasonable physical damage reduction through more than just armor and the new active skills. Or perhaps we'll just see phys to ele conversion come back hard.

As for whether it's going a way people want it to, I know some people definitely want more passive ways to handle things and not rely on active stuff like Steelskin. But on the other side some would rather have the Action back in the ARPG so the active skills are right up their alley.

I'd like the active skills more if they could overhaul the damn hotkey/shortcut keys and give us more of them to use.

Huh, I just noticed something. The IC description doesn't mention anything about only hits or only enemy damage, just that it's less physical and elemental damage taken. Looks like it'll make RF easier to handle.
IC gone ... so with my summoner the undoable mods in high maps will be
1. reflect
2. no regen
3. contains procupines

...oh wait .. number 3 isn't even listed before I encounter them

great design and well thought through. -.-

/sarcasm off:
Please at least provide a similar mechanic to the old IC -- no need for endurance charge consumption or more duration .. just give us a chance to not instagib to a pack of exploding porcupines with a 2-3 socket investment.
Just tell us how badly you nerfed winter orb...
RIP immortal call.

RIP immortal call and molten shell together in a CWDT setup.
That, that is, is. That, that is not, is not. Is that it? It is.

Cool, immortality builds are cheap now.

Fortify + Fortify Effect + Immortal Call = 100% reduced physical

Flasks + Flask Effectiveness + Nature's Boon + Immortal Call = 100% reduced elemental

No, you can't become fully immune to damage only through damage mitigation as it is capped at 90%. Immortal Call makes you immune currently because it explicitly says you do.

Basicly u rekt immortal call and introduced 2 more similar skills that share the same cd and they all do the same thing more or less ?

No, they scale with different mechanics for different builds.
Steelskin: does not scale with anything other than levels, basic defense for no investment. Probably going to find its place in the duelist/templar areas.
Molten Shell: like Steelskin but does scale with armour and has a damage reflect mechanic.
IC: scales with endurance charges, can become complete immune to phys with 7+charges, now also gives elemental reduction, something that was sorely missed. Will probably be interesting in the marauder part of the tree as end-charges are easier to obtain.

the IC-nerf was way overdue. It was odd that GGG would allow such an abuse of a mechanic for such a long time.

The new IC won't allow you to become immune to damage with 7+ end charges, because it will only be able to consume up to 5 charges. So the maximum reduction would be 85%.

I agree that the new options are good, but IC+CWDT is currently the only combo that protects you from situations when you are hit several times in a very short amount of time (and that's not so rare to happen). None of the new skills allows for that. So, in the end, they have removed this possibility for defense.

Steelskin could be fun to play with, Molten Shell could be quite good in some builds.

Porcupines? Builds without armor or endurance charges, is there any counter? Range esp. offscreen helps, but HC just needs bad rng once.

And yes, I will never seriously play HC but they need to be considered.

We use a Jade Flask most of the Time. The way Evasion works, you are only hit by like 10% of the Porcupines at most.
Uhhgh. Didn't read but did anyone notice how broken the new molten shell is? I wonder if they will straight up nerf it before the league start making it useless considering it is easy to stack like 100k+ armour on melee characters which basically makes you invincible for single target.
