I say yes. I don't see why it should be more common, or more rare, it should just be a feature of the standard net. Totem and summoner characters are both options that you offer players so you should not build leagues whose core mechanics are kicks to their balls. Since by their nature given the mechanics you provide us, there is no targeting control of such attack modes, no heel command, no way to work with the system you built this league around, well - fix the league mechanic. Seems reasonable.

Then how about giving us a little more control of our minions and totems so that when you inevitably add in another new feature that involves slowing and/or halting fire on a target, for an all or nothing reward, you don't well, kick us in the balls just for playing the build options you provide and we enjoy in core gameplay.
Yes but more rare. Hands down.
I'm doing a Frostbolt Totem build for map farming, 3 totems firing 5 shots at a time. Mobs don't stand a chance, often even rares get melted. I have such a hard time trying to net them before they die. Please implement this, but add some sort of restriction or something that they only work with say certain nodes that indicate you aren't in control of your damage sources, I.E. Ancestral bond. Just something indicative of a totem and/or pet build.

You could add a support Gem that has a 100% chance to stun mobs for 10 seconds at 1% life, and renders the attack incapable of killing anything. It would make it possible to stun a pack of mobs and give the player time to pick out the one they want to capture and to thrown their net before switching back to their main set and finishing everything off.

Weapons that do something similar wouldn't be bad.
