Yes please, there are already players out there killing these beasts from offscreen with gear that's 3 days old in a few weeks half the community will have builds strong enough to kill most beasts (except the red ones with 2 affixes i guess) nearly instantly. Or at least fast enough that we can't clear the thrash mobs around them without killing the rare.

It's literally people not willing to pay attention and wanting to stick to their one-button-to-win ways.
No, it's clunky mechanics, glitchy net targeting, and net cast desync that are the reason I voted "yes". I agree dead nets are not the best solution, but at least it's a solution instead of the status quo. I'm certainly open to other, better solutions by GGG. If they had an option for "a different solution", I'd vote for that.

The 3-second stun rule fixes everything that was wrong on release.
Except for what I state above.

I could even live with a bit of auto-targetting for the nets, in situations where small rares are drowning in adds for example.
If you remember the Bestiary launch notes and discussion, the nets were supposed to auto target the most rare/valuable beast around characters. But we all know the results of that.

And once again you insult when you don't understand/agree with something.

Find me a good reason anybody needs to play with the mechanics as intended now, I'll wait.
We don't need to, as the community is voting more "yes" than "no" right now. And what you consider a "good reason" isn't going to be the same for people who voted "yes".

i guess this is my last day of this league.

I've often found that people claiming to leave never really do. Same thing happens when voters claim they'll leave a country if a certain candidate wins the election for Presidency. So funny. We will of course see you with many more challenges completed at a later date, lol.

GJ ruining a new idea because you refuse to have less than 7-figure clear DPS, refuse to look at your minimap before putting down totems, are generally refuse to do anything that remotely resembles complex thought.

This can be very easily turned the other way around :) All of those complaining about "not being able to play because it's too difficult to catch things with too much dps" would never leave either. Let's leave the league the way it is then!

As for the other guy, mockery or not - he has a point. There's 101 ways to capture the beasts. If people don't do it - it's their own choice, or their own lack of imagination. Saying they're too stupid to do so or not capable of complex enough thought to figure one of those 101 ways out - may be a bit too harsh. Doesn't make it wrong though.

There may be a difference between "l2p, if you suck you don't catch anything" vs "please, try to figure out a way to just make your build work, or roll another character for beast catching, both viable options". Chose whichever appeals to you more.

Also ppl saying "my 5 totems kill too fast" should maybe think twice before brainlessly spamming 5 totems. The BESTIARY BEAST ICONS on the map are there for a reason, just, well, start thinking.

+1

Very well and diplomatically written. Thank you for this posting! :)
All these suggestions are so valid!
Like, I totally shouldn't summon any minions (especially as a necromancer) until AFTER I have cleared the map! Of course!

Or, I should only use 1 zombie or 1 raging spirit or 1 skeleton or... no spectres to bring the mob down to netting range. It would only take 2-3 minutes... every single time. Brilliant!

Or, I shouldn't play the build that I enjoy most (summoner)... for the entire league! Amazing!

Why couldn't I think of those easy fixes?

ONLY because of all those misguided people who voted YES without having the information about Auto-targeting fix incoming :/ which is sad. Because without those ppl, the YES vote would never win. And now the league will get screwed up, simply because of that.

If this vote was re-made AFTER the auto-targeting fix, this disaster wouldn't even come close to happening, because it'd be easy 70:30 win for the "NO" option.

Could you create aoe nets? 3s duration, we have to ko all mobs within it to get some reward. And nets that do not capture but only infuriate beasts. And affixes/suffixes to nets, that add modes to the beast you infuriate. And items that interact with capture. Well, lots of cool things can be done to mitigate the frustration of single mob targetting, capture failure or gameplay interruption. But please nothing that capture dead beasts. Keep it for a new league with different lore/gameplay.

No, and if yes then not as a drop at all... Make it a fairly expensive purchase... Like, a full stack of nets and a regret used in a special crafting location will grant you -one- "soul net" of the same level...

We knew we needed to catch critters going in to this, and while I can appreciate the frustration of working against the system to pull off a build, some of the best builds I've seen start that way... But if you built a ripper, and you got a ripper, I don't believe base any mechanics should be altered simply because any given player hasn't figured out how to meet out the rather clearly stated objective: Catch.

Not kill.
Catch.

Of course, I've also noticed suggestions that an item for weakening a beast could be in order, and I approve of that idea.
yes.
I voted no. The current mechanic is not perfect but scavenging corpses seems too much. I would rather see the beast become immune to damage while enraged with some indicator of this state over their head to know when to cast the net again. It's annoying to see the beast break free and then die from my minions before I can recast the net.
