You've splitted "Yes" option into 2 Thats just logically incorrect and confusing.
I completely agree with the first post of the first page. With that said in the past i was part of the meta, speed clearing of maps etc. GGG tring a different way is good, keeps things fresh.
So my idea is something like this - make capture monsters NOT die immediately after they are down to 1 hp. Something like incapacitation or whatever you wanna call it. Let this status last differently with different rarity of beasts /ex: 3 sec - normal, 2 sec - rare, 1 sec - unique/. During that time throw the net. This makes the metaplayers actually turn that brain of theirs on and stop rushing when they see a double/tripple bestiary mode rare who they're after.
Or don't but just try to find a middle ground.

PS: Haven't read the comments if anyone suggested similar thing .. well it just shows its not such a bad idea.

I voted no because it defeats the concept of the league, but if they are implemented, I might actually play the league, because I will no longer be sacrificing living things to some ancient 'gods'... and it'll just be killing re-animated monsters like the rest of Wraeclast's monsters.

Gets past most of the issues I have with the concept...
Make it expensive and not automatically dropped. That way you can viably opt in or out.

Your point is valid but wasted. Once a developer folds and accommodates just one time, it becomes the norm. GGG might as well have said "You do not have to modify your style, GGG will rethink the entire league because of some players..." when they came up with the dead capture nets.

I also think, like some others, that maybe there wasn't enough testing done on this mechanic and it's viability with every build available. From what I've seen, that would be a mammoth undertaking. In the end, I think it comes down to the lesser of two evils; rebuild the entire mechanic (league?), or just throw in this dead capture net. Considering time, effort and finances, the choice seems pretty obvious.

well i voted yes + common... I use Quad Totems with GC and Later Arc... which is impoosible to aim and gl with your decoy totem to hit that one mob from over 50 ... ( which i already had in a few cases )

GJ ruining a new idea because you refuse to have less than 7-figure clear DPS, refuse to look at your minimap before putting down totems, are generally refuse to do anything that remotely resembles complex thought.

That's exactly the Point...wait...NOT.
With some skills it's (maybe) not that viable or you are "forced" to play more carefully and adapt; that's right. But just don't use this skills then. Just adapt to the league, isn't it that difficult? Every league has its own mechanics and metagaming and that's ok. The only poor choice is made by the Player, when he or she chooses to make a build which will be way more challenging than with other builds/skills. I mean challenging is fine for me, but all the people Keep on complaining as if they were dead from the neck up.

Seriously, captured means captured, not to sweep up corpses!

And in case of my build: I Play Molten Strike which isn't that great to capture as well, especially when ya have that much projectiles in the end, but who cares; it's fun and challenging and works very well for me. :)

Tell that to my minions. They are my DPS and my shield, I am not supposed to be running out in front of them to scout the area for beasts to catch. Netting the monster is hard if my minions arrgo it first and they all swarm it to kill it (which is what they are supposed to do). Throwing the net is useless if they've already killed the beast and I never had a chance at all.
