What, are we supposed to be some sort of scavengers instead of mighty apex predators?

How isn't "No" clearly winning?

Capturing dead beasts is the opposite of what this league is about. How do people not realize this?
If you can just capture dead beasts it ruins the play style promoted by the league in the first place and makes it another "there's some random things on the map while you run through clearing multiple screens at once" kind of league of which we definitely had enough.

Why would anyone want this? The whole point of the league is to *optionally* allow you to capture beasts alive.

Everything else in the damn game is loot from dead mobs. Why homogenize this one unique mechanic?

Seems like a bunch of crybabies that don't want to adapt their previously OP builds or gameplay to an even slightly different environment.

Agreed. This baffles me too. Nobody is forced to catch the low-level Beasts. The speed-farmers may just push into maps and play as usual.

I think this league benefits a cautious and slower play style without hindering experienced players. Especially the "Levelling Recipes" give the impression to be designed for new players...

...so why changing this new (additional) mechanic? Why playing this league in the same manner as the last leagues? The idea of "Challenge Leagues" is to experience the game in a NEW way, isn't it?
Ah, my english is terrible, sry for that.

I don´t like it to capture beasts that are alive.

Beast is at 15% and I throw my net.
What happens: A damage over time effect kills the beast before my nets hits.
The beast healths up, my net hits but Fails because the health of the beast is to high
It is enraged, I try again with low health, same Thing as before. Healed, net Fails.

I think it wouls be better to "extract the souls" of dead beasts with a Chance that a enraged
beast is spawning or something like that.
I agree with most people that are leaving comments about not being able to capture dead beasts. Its counter productive to the whole idea of taking the chance to capture instead of kill. You need to work it out. It coincides with the idea that already exists about not being able to respec our skill trees entirely, and instead level new characters to play a certain way. Well, than people should be making characters than that are beast capture specific. It fits in properly with the theme.

Though, I understand the struggle this will cause for players that are using certain play styles that give them no control over what gets killed, by skills migrating off-screen: So make a beast capture specific character.

BUT, I could support the idea of a "Beast Resurrection" item. Which would still be a rare item to obtain or work towards. But gives you the same opportunity to work for the capture and possibly mess up and still lose the monster. I could see this item working on the beasts that currently show up on the map with the Hawk Headed Icon that hovers over them. If they happen to die you can still hover over the monster and check its buffs and rarity to ensure if you'd even want to revive it.

I could support that sort of idea instead of capturing an already dead beast that you put no effort into managing the challenge of capture instead of kill. This way, if you happen to come across something you really needed or was farming and you happen to kill it, well, here is another chance. Don't mess it up this time.

Officially Roadkill League now. Totes time to skip. Ugh

Wraeclast is a land where the dead rise again...

Wraeclast is the land of the damned. This forsaken continent is home to many writhing horrors, murderous beasts, and ravenous undead. The very soil is permeated with dark, ancient power, the earth shivering with malice. The dead are refused peace, rising up and hopelessly wandering in eternal pain, sorrow and hunger. The wildlife is twisted and misshapen, unnaturally aggressive and savage.

There's nothing wrong with the in-character explanation for beasts. And if the dead nets are rare, people will still attempt the regular method of catching them first.

Oh like hell people will bother with standard captures once Roadkill Nets go in. Not a bleeding chance in hell the clearspeedmongers will do anything but ignore Bestiary as hard as they can until they need a specific recipe, then just throw their jabbering buttpiles of hoarded Roadkill Nets at corpses until they get what they want.

This was already a dicey league to start with, a risky thing for GGG to try. Now they're sabotaging the entire thing by allowing players to just skip it all freely and then still get their stuff. No penalty anymore whatsoever for building a rampant asshole clearspeed build that can't slow down enough to actually engage with the league.

Nice play, folks. We almost dodged Bestiary becoming a joke. It was up over 50% Screw That for a little bit.
I think being able to catch dead beasts just makes it to easy and with the 3 sec timer did help with the culling thing not sure you want to make the league mechanic to be super easy and less rewarding but that's my opinion.

No isn't winning because the mechanics to capture a beast suck. Royally suck. And people want that to change. I agree that dead nets are not the best solution, but at least they're one solution GGG can make rather quickly. Hopefully they can revamp the entire mechanic later?

How do you not realize that Einhar transforms the live beast into a dead ball of blood before transferring it to the menagerie? Unless you want to argue that the spinning ball of blood is alive somehow? lol.

I'm getting the feeling that most people in this thread that don't want you to capture dead beasts are either playing a very weak build, or haven't even gotten to mapping yet.
