Oni-Goroshi in Current League - are You gonna farm it or drop it?

Hey TheSinSin, you picked the wrong link to post your pics so they aren't displayed properly. I use IMGUR and that site has different ways to link to a picture but only the direct link works in the PoE forums. For example:

Congrats on grinding out your Oni-Goroshi sword. You barely needed much time at level 8. I had to grind a little farther into 8 for my OG:

Level 8 @ 12% to get Uber Hillock to come out and play:

At least it wasn't level 9 (that was an uber brutal grind):

Never again, I'm too old for that mountain of grind.

Have a great day exiles.  :)

Tried my hand at farming Oni for the first time. Dropped level 8 @ 28% with a little over 21hrs between farmers. Too bad the roll was garbage.

First drop

Trash roll...

Hmm... That much time is super frustrating to only get 73% crit but you can easily change it with a Divine orb so here's hoping you can get one. Your pic looks like only 3% on the level and not the level 8.28 as you state but whatever. My pic from my worst OG farm at nearly 8 hours x 3 farmers so ≈ 24 hours total time to get UH is 100% not worth it anymore. That was back when I peaked at PoE playing in Incursion League and ground out 4 Oni swords but I'm lucky to get even 1 sword now. With GGG ever pushing the top endgame content difficulty making the mountain grind climb ever worse because there are no-lifers that will always reach 100 in the first weeks of the league and me being a solid middle of the pack filthy casual has me worn out just pushing any build to level 90. I've had my OG for a few weeks now and have zero desire to run a third build in the last month of Metamorph (even with 89% crit I no interest in another Cyclone spinner or Tec Slammer and not wasting time on anything that isn't endgame viable).

Only bright spot this league is finding out that for years all my bad QoP (lags, horrendous stuttering, DCs) were all caused by the fact that PoE internal timing (probably netsync but who the hell knows, obviously not GGG or they would have fixed this by now... you think?... but maybe not as some bugs go on for years without a fix) was being foobar-ed to hell and beyond by Windows 7 OS. All the bullshit bad frame rates etc. was bad code optimizing on Win 7. Every other game ran butter smooth but PoE was a nightmare. I don't think thread scheduling was working properly on my Windows 7 with PoE. Now that I have made the jump to Win 10 Pro that's all in the past (just wish I had upgraded years ago). Live and learn... OH NO!, not another learning experience. SIGH!  :(

Have a great day exiles.

Little over 9 hours total between 4 characters and still haven't met UH. Will edit if I ever do...

First char is almost level 8 while the rest are mid level 7.

As stated by others once you get to level 7 there is no need to keep killing zombies and definitely avoid wasting time on the spitters (insignificant xp). All that matters is the very low rng chance that the zone will roll uber Hillock or not (mostly not). So running up your xp doesn't help get you better a rng roll on the next TSB instance. Only time I shoot anything as a ranger is when I can get a triple kill with 1 arrow (rare), the zombie is right in my path, or the zombie is in my way killing Hillock. Otherwise just run past. By level 7 you should have been lucky enough to get 10% speed boots. On my 3 UH farmer rotation I did have the unfortunate bad luck of having all 3 exiles into level 8 (typical for me) before UH finally came up on the PoE rng slot machine.

By focusing on Hillock kill runs only/mostly you should get UH to come out and play with your exile in under 3 hours of game time x 3 exile rotation = < 9 hours total physical time. My Metamorph UH sighting and kill came at just under 3 hours:

My Metamorph UH fight

I will seriously miss this part of PoE come PoE 2 and no more six link weapons to chase after. Chasing a 6L skill gem just won't ever have the same impact as TSB farming for Charan's Sword and with so many skills available if patch 4.0 still has the TSB UH challenge for a 6L skill gem it'll probably be a rng skill gem drop meaning I'll get one that is a garbage skill. SIGH! If I won't be able to pick the skill that I get to 6L upon killing UH (99.99% sure GGG won't give us any choice that way, just more 100% weighted rng drop bullshit) then that will definitely be the end of UH farming. Now I understand (mostly) why Charan quit so suddenly and dramatically.

What whoah whoah whaoh Ive been away a good while Charan maybe the single biggest Whale in PoE history has really quit for good?

Yes, he's gone, including having GGG delete his main account. But according to another thread he can be seen now in the Wolcen forums:

Why Wolcen over PoE as an ARPG, you ask? Two words, friends: offline mode.

That post is signed "A Former Ruler of Wraeclast" so it likely is him.

Most (at least from the Metamorph OGs posters) players are having to grind into lower end of level 8 to get UH. Took me level 8 @ 12% to get an OG (at least no new TSB Level 9 Club members... never again... too old to grind that far).
