A Few Specific Balance Changes in 3.2.0

While I completely accept most of these nerfs, I also have to argue against the ono-goroshi nerfs. Forgive me here as I dont know how to quote previous posts properly, but Bex made an arguement for people getting ono after farming strand for 4 hours. This is simply incorrect, I know plenty of people who farmed for 7-10 hours trying to get this, I myself had to farm for 12 before having him spawn, so now your telling me that if I want to get myself an ono in order to level faster, I may in fact have to farm for much closer to 20-25 hours and get to lvl 9 before he shows up? This weapon isnt even any more powerful then your average weapon in mapping levels, so that massive investment only actually helps reduce how tedious playing the story over and over is, and yeah dont get me wrong a linear story did help, but after you run it 100 times even that gets repetitive.

Here's the question you should be asking: Why aren't drop tables varied for Leagues vrs Standard? Why can't you have maps modified with different tables (as opposed to fixed drop tables for cards etc)?

The state of the drop tables ingame is shockingly bad atm - any decent patch / build would address the core issue rather than minor edge cases such as this. i.e. You can get level 1 uniques in Act 10 story mode. <<This is crap design.

p.s.

I happen to know the why, and the global state system is still 100% terrible design. On the record: stunned that in six (6) years nothing got fixed for this.

Grim Dawn did it: GGG did not. Hmmmm.

I am all for the sextant nerfs cause it was a very clear example of the rich get richer. It also wasn't fun to have to spend all this time setting up a map just right in hopes of competing with others on the market. I do hope you don't have yet another rng sextant mod challenge though, because this will be significantly more annoying now.

As for the Oni-Goroshi nerfs, it is frustrating to see items that help poorer players constantly become more rare. Can't you look out for the less hardcore and provide them with some sort of reliable 6 link outside of tabula?

Oh, so you're worried about Standard? I think the new Leagues should always be attractive to play.

Don't worry about it dude, who cares if someone makes 1000 ex per new league. As long as you're happy with what you've accumulated. If not then well, put more effort into it. I think it's great that PoE rewards those that can take advantage of the knowledge and experience they've gained.

Well done, you've managed to hit two major issues in one post with no self-awareness at all (unless you're a currency seller).

They are (fairly obviously):

1) If every League Std server is spanked with massive amounts of influx of currency / items that it is not possible to obtain in Std due to the mechanics (e.g. Breach, Zana 8 etc) every three months?

Then

Well Done! Your Core Game is Broken!

2) New players who are tempted to spend money will soon realize that players are porting massive amounts of resources from Leagues that they cannot obtain be it via bad timing of League start or not knowing the 'meta' builds used to gouge out League mechanics for currency?

Then

Well Done! Your Core Game is Broken!

~Oh, and Bonus round: by the time they learn / level / gear up for the meta... it gets nerfed!

And add to this:

3) You expect new players in Std to compete / have fun / trade / spend money against players who can literally have access to a game mode that has more beneficial mechanics, drop rates, modifiers and so forth... that disappear and preclude the new players the chance to experience... and this advantage only multiplies over time (# Leagues completed)?

Then:

Well Done! Your Core Game is Broken!

/Thread.

Shocking. Whales be damned, and I just spent $30 on this pointing it out. Pulling out ~1k+ Ex from a 4 month league is shockingly broken.

Yeah that's what I thought, you're upset about Standard. There are people who make Mirrors almost on a daily basis there. Oh well. Can't please everybody. Have fun!

PS, play a league sometime, it might be fun. - Started July 2017

No, that's not what this conversation is about at all.

Well done.

PoE is about mapping and you're 'nerfing the map gameplay?'

Mapping is not nerfed. 'Only one map' whole league are nerfed.

So, if I'm good in this game you're nerfing good players for what?

If you are really good player - you know how to evolve and not stuck in the past.
E = mc^(OMG)/wtf
I love hearing the cries of some of the players here. They are winging because they cannot abuse the game mechanics to get an unfair advantage, I suppose you will see next league that you are no pro, but a regular scrub! haha love it.

But two of three of your complaints about the game being broken are about the fact that leagues affect standard. You are 100% complaining that standard is broken because of the influx of currencies/new items from league. While I won't argue that people do play standard, I will argue that a lot more people play leagues. I'm surprised you're not complaining about legacy items in that post of yours too, but I'm guessing you have a few of those due to your start time of this game. Can't have them nerfing the largest portion of wealth in standard, can we.
Bisco nerf was pretty obv. Like literally every build used it

Sextant nerf is pretty cool. I did it yes i did it. And i got bored of farming the same map over and over. iT will be more fun now.

All nerfs are well deserved. Zana is not really a nerf, breach will be back eventually. Biscos and sextant nerf made me actually quite happy. It's the first GGG's decision I agreed with for 3.2.0 changes. Power creep from revamped ascendancy and the bestiary league itself- not so much.

Not exactly sure about the monster damage modifiers though. Do we need monsters deal more damage or less? I think what monsters need is their HP buffed so we can actually enjoy game's mechanics and not oneshot everything on the screen without thinking much.
Honestly very tired of constant power creep and a lack of changes on monsters. Tired of seeing monsters as EXP baloons.
Will those balance change my mind about playing this league? Nah, probably not. Unless if there are some more nerfs added in the game hiding somewhere in the patch nodes.

Hopefully, you have buffed drop rates as well.

I remember how we once found two barons a season, since Bisco I have not found a single one, as you expected us to have one, which I did not.

Zana buff is important, she needed it, but I bet she will still be out of reach for non traders in SSF.
