players playing in 4K?
Hey GGG do you have any stats on the # of players playing your game in 4K?
So I finally plugged in a 4K monitor and holy shit does the game look totally different. Better is an understatement. It's not just a subtle difference but looks like the game is optimized for it. I was trying to figure out why your youtube clips look so sharp when you demo MTX because what I was seeing looked nothing like it. Sure enough it's because of 4K and it would be interesting to know what percentage of players are actually experiencing the game in 4K. ✰CARD✰ The Survivalist I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags. I can't imagine how a modern rig could run PoE at 4k at steady 60 fps.

" I'm on an older gen i7 2.8 but with a GTX 1080 so while it's definitely not a steady 60+, it still feels alright in a sense that it's not any worse than when I was just running the game at 1080. Overall it feels like a huge improvement for me meaning the visual were radically improved without a noticeable hit to performance. ✰CARD✰ The Survivalist

I've been playing on a 40" 4K monitor for the last 6 months and the game plays by far the best of all the ARPG's at this resolution. Apart from teaming with a friend that was playing a known laggy/buggy build that killed my FPS to 10-20, I never drop below 60fps.
It does feel perfect in 4K. The UI is scaled exactly right and compared to other games I have had zero issues. |

I also play PoE in 4k, used to do it with a gtx 980 gaming(all settings on low, ran steady at 72-75 degrees celcius). Still looked very good, no delays/lag/stuttering at all. Recently I got myself a gtx 1080 ti gaming X(runs steady at 55-58 degrees celcius, fans don't come on before 60 degrees), and WOW the game looks amazing when playing 4k at max settings. Runs smooth as butter, and it's one of the most beautiful games out there.
I do have a 28 inch monitor which supports G-sync! I'm still running on an "old" 2012 CPU, never felt the need to upgrade the CPU. The players posting that PoE looks and plays like crap always make me sad, as the game is definately not. If you do happen to start playing in 4k, make sure your videocard can run it at good/max settings, as that will look even better than with all settings on low. But even with all settings on low(gtx 980 gaming), I felt it was worth the switch. Edit: Even in party play(zana rota's) I have no issues with laggy builds, no stuttering/delay/lag in the slightest(only on non EU servers hehe). ...Won't lie. I've been putting it off because I spend at least 60% of my gaming time with the ps4pro on a 4k tv but when it's time to upgrade the box, it'll be 4k for PoE (okay, and Warframe. And Wolcen. BUT MOSTLY FOR POE).
I'm dying to see how it looks. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild. |
