I played Diablo 3 on day one- no, I didn't get that error code. Loved the auction house. Never had an issue with it at all. The game itself was poorly balanced and designed.
D3's problems stemmed from fundamental design decisions that are still present in the game despite the Ah being long gone now.
Bad design is bad design.
Other games have functioning auction houses with robust economies that is not the wild west of bartering and RELIANCE ON A VEIL OF IGNORANCE to control the market.
There MUST always be strict market regulation. People are too stupid to do it themselves.

Yes trading in poe is aggravating at times but that is ok because once in a while you get those sweet bro deals and also can rip off noobs
An auction house will solve 1 problem while creating a zillion more

The auction house had nothing to do with D3's failure. Horrible game design based around it was. Not being able to stop bots from using the AH was also another problem. Giving up on it and going console type of gaming was the biggest failure.

THE ONLY REASON there is still some joy left in MFing and uniq drops. Add AH and you basically take out any excitement from loot you have left in this game . Remove POE trade lets go back to Forum and Live trading and u'll see decent uniq's climb in price instead of being dirt cheap trash drop.
It's not a casual game you are not supposed to have the best loot 1 week in . If you could then where is the fun ? Where is the game part ? Mindlessly slaughtering dirt easy end game content while farming currency (the only thing left worth your time) ? Even now its harder and harder to get GOOD gear because the price ranges between DECENT and GOOD gear are astronomical everything but TOP Tier is dirt cheap. Because all the decent uniqs are dirt cheap people left only the option of currency grinding to get stuff. Without POE trade decent items will sell better for higher price helping you get that end game gear faster.
P.S Other possibility is that in order to keep at least some items expensive and some sort of economy they WILL reduce DROP chances by alot !! If you think its hard to find end game gear now IF AH arrives you'll have more luck with a lottery inrl then seeing something drop.
No offline mode sounds fine and all, except that will not stop countless people from just leaving their games logged in, in which would force others to feel they need to do the same. If that isn't bad enough by itself, by forcing people to think they need to stay logged in, they are also forcing people to waaste resources, just to trade in a game. This was the main reason games like everquest gave up on the no offline trading.

GGG needs to make their own version of poetrade and moderate it themselves for price fixers. This could even be somewhat automated. If a player gets 10 whispers for an item but never sells it then they could be given a temp trading ban or something and there listing would be removed.

All D3 proved was that humans are innately stupid and will pay actual real dolla dolla bills for pixels. Like serious swag.
Actually, that should be ARPG humans. But it also applies to casual phone/tablet game humans as well. And Farmville - you know people spent thousands of dollars on that fucking game.
Anyway, you can't fix stupid, nor can you fix corrupted, so how will an AH ever work?

Well now i kinda hope they bring AH just so that this game could finally die. Its horrible as it is .... i keep running those T15/T16 maps farming currency and div cars FFS...... trash raining ..... uniq that once where 5-10 ex are now selling for ALCH. ALCH !!!! I mean i am running the map calculating the currency drops vs investment with my MF gear 125 IIQ /205 IIR + Bisco and thinking ....whats the fucking point ? Nothing is worth anything anymore no point of picking shit up. 0 excitement value !! 0 !! Vendoring Mjolnirs and 250 Marohis because they are like 2-3 chaos and i would not bother or have room . Fuck this shit.
I am done with this game . I had enough. For me atleast POE.Trade and Chance Orb killed this game .....

Don't. It's one thing to pay for items that are purely cosmetic. It's another thing to pay for items that enable you to partially or even entirely skip the grind. Only someone who relies on the latter would attempt to blur the line so they look the same.

And that there is your mistake. You should play to enjoy it. If your current character is godly good, never challenged and thus boring, then just create a new, more fun char. Even if it earns less currency/hour. This game is meant to be fun, not a job.
