[2.6] IMMORTAL MF GOLEMS - Shaper / Uber / ALL Guardians *WHILE DEAD*
" http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Minion Heres the page and if u scroll down u ll see the skills and which skills affect minions. Only 1 skill on elementalist ascendancy supports golems. Character screen was deceptive. The on ur c is summon golems not the golem's own damage. Trust your mind and strengthen your abilities!

Clicking on the golem tooltip shows you the golem's attributes (offense, defense, misc, charges) which changes for example if you put on or off minion damage support (you'll see the damage modifier change in the misc tab). That tells you that all information on those tabs reflects the characteristics of the golem, ~not~ the player casting the golem. And common sense would tell you that the act of summoning a golem neither causes damage nor penetrates fire resistance.
This is very basic stuff MrsDeath. And I've already itemized a series of basic things you've overlooked. Doesn't something trigger in you the thought that maybe, just maybe, you might be wrong on this one too? 54% of the people in the US believe we get the majority of our oil from the Middle East. Never in the history of our country have we ever gotten the majority of our oil from the Middle East. And yet the passion behind so many peoples' political and world views is so extreme and they feel they are so 'right' yet in reality, they are wrong and uninformed more than they want to admit. Dunning-kruger effect. And AGAIN, you are misunderstanding the minion wiki page. They are showing passives and ascendancies that DIRECTLY affect minions that is on all the time and INDEPENDENT from requiring player action to do something to proc it. Mastermind of Discord is NOT a direct minion effect. It's an indirect one AND to make it even more complex, the right golem elemental damage must line up with the appropriate elemental damage casted by the player. So it is incredibly situational. Putting it on the minion page with disclaimers longer than the description itself makes no sense. The game is WAY too complex with WAY too many variables to factor in all influencing factors. Every wiki page would be an entire book if it had to include all that information. |

" There is only 2 things can happen. Its either this skills do affect or do not affect golems and i cannot be wrong about both of them. I'll let tomay convince you cuz i am not so good at sweet talk. " Scorching Ray effect is very different from Penetration. Like curses it reduces the target's resistance and this affects all fire damage from you, allies in your party, and indeed your minions. Penetration on the other hand only applies to damage dealt by you but has no effect on damage dealt by your golems (unless the support gem is directly linked to Summon Flame Golem) or allies in your party. They do not benefit from Mastermind of Discord or items which grant penetration such as The Wise Oak flask. And from the Wiki: " " The offence tab does not show anything "incorrectly", you're just reading it incorrectly, it says Summon Flame Golem, "summon" being the operative word here. Golems are not skills. Your skill is a spell to summon a golem. The tab does not show anything in relation to the skill set or damage of the golem you summon. Now, all sorts of "weird" things can apply to this spell but have no effect on the golems and this can be somewhat confusing. Last edited by tomay#5509 on May 14, 2017, 4:22:32 AM

It took me 2 or 3 days to sink in but tomay is right about this topic. I was so disappointed by not getting benefit of so many things..I am thinking about switching to shaper of desolation just to benefit from elemental status effects with ball lightning. I wonder how effective they would be?

" borderline useless considering our damage from ball lightning is too low compared to the mob's HP "The base duration of shock is 60 ms for every 1% of the target's maximum life" yea you aint gonna shock much even with shaper of deso, it doesnt change much. all it does is that during shock conflux, all damage from you shocks regardless of element (doesnt have to be lightning) |
|
Shock depends on the amount of lightning damage dealt in relation to the target's health pool. A hit that doesn't deal at least 5% of the target's maximum life cannot apply shock at all, regardless the "chance to shock". This makes it pretty much impossible to apply shock on late game map bosses with lightning damage from spells or attacks even for "fully trained" characters, never mind some random Ball Lightning support setup. ;)
If you want Shock then VLT or VoV is the only way really. (or Ylfeban's Trickery) Edit: primordialiege beat me to it. ;) Last edited by tomay#5509 on May 14, 2017, 6:39:34 AM

" OK, the Summon Flame Golem tooltip does show certain attributes for the Golem but they only affect the Golem where it says "Minions have...", Minions deal..". etc. The tooltip also shows attributes which pertain to both the spell and the golems ("This Spell and Minions..."), so there certainly is a distinction. As I have explained before, you can link Added Cold Damage Support to Summon Flame Golem and now you will see DPS in the tooltip (which normally is not the case) but do not confuse this with golem damage. If you add/remove Minion Damage Support it will have no effect on the "tooltip DPS" which it would if we were looking a golem damage. Add/Remove Controlled destruction will change the "tooltip DPS" because it directly affects the cold damage added to the spell but again this has nothing to do with the minion damage. Do you have Fire Penetration linked to Summon Flame Golem? Now trigger Mastermind of Discord... the line in the character sheet's offence tab does reflect the changes but the line in the tooltip reading "Minions penetrate xx% Fire Resistance" does not. And no, tooltip/character sheet is not always about "common sense". True, the spell to summon a minion cannot deal any damage and yet certain modifiers do affect it and are therefore listed in the character sheet... whether they make sense or not. Edit: I just linked Added Cold Damage Support to Summon Flame Golem with my FT Chieftain and here the "DPS" does not show up in the tooltip or character sheet... because he's got the Ancestral Bond keystone and thus cannot deal any damage himself. Btw is 20/23 Flame Golem actually better than 21/20 if you're not using Empower or + to socketed gems?
20/23 Flame Golem has 91% max life and 23% increased minion damage while 21/20 has 90% max life and 20% increased minion damage |
|
No, base life and damage are much higher at lvl 21
20: 6776 / 619–1547 21: 7466 / 684–1710 Last edited by tomay#5509 on May 14, 2017, 8:03:12 AM
