Finally picked up an item quantity gem and I have a quick question for anyone else using it.

I replaced fire pen and dps seems fine with ball light for pen. But my question is: I was running IIR & Cull linked to my Lightning Golem. Should I drop that now that I have IIQ on flame golem setup? Lightning would get the last hit in with cull most times on bosses and on the occasional normal mob. Just wondering if I'm better off with the flame golems getting all the kills now with IIQ or keep the IIR/Cull setup.

If your Lightning Golem has Culling Strike and actually culls the target, then the linked IIR gem works, but the linked IIQ from Flame Golem doesn't.

If the Flame Golem kills stuff instead of the Lightning Golem, then the IIQ gem works.

if you have the iiq gem on flame golems its better go 6 flame for getting maximum performance on the gem

Well, that's the thing... with my 5/1 golem squad I'm literally flying through T15/16/17 maps although I often "forget" to curse and trigger Elemental Equilibrium. I also believe my stupid "of Fury" gloves enchant makes matters worse for the golems as this does attack with fire damage on hit and the golems then face 50% increased fire resistance. And I have not gotten around to recolour my chest yet so they don't have Fire Penetration either (using Elemental Focus instead). So clear speed is certainly not an issue at all, not even with a "sub-optimal" setup.

And as for the "hard boses", that's where we're usually dead anyway so the golems don't get the benefit from curses and EE... and the-not-so-hard bosses melt in split seconds anyway. ;)

oh dude i feel you about glove enchantment. i had the same problem then i run some labs untill i get word of reflection. that makes ur copy and does not apply ee u might wanna do that.
Well gameplay is smooth i am thinking about bringing my golems back cuz i miss them too much ^^ i am gonna try to get max iiq this time and then run the maps^^

As of now, I'm using 8 x Harmony. I kept 1 x Eminence and then I'm using Intuitive Leap in the top right socket which saved me two passives (I took the two curse effectiveness nodes next to it). I also have a nice +1 curse/51 ES amulet so I didn't need Whispers of Doom. I'm thinking about refunding the two effectiveness nodes and Skittering Runes as well and fill the Unnatural Calm and Arcane Focus clusters instead (4 passives needed). Then move the Harmony next to Melding up to the top and use Energy from Withing in the socket next to Melding. This should be a neat boost for my ES pool.

Fully geared for MF you will hardly get more than 7k ES. If you want better survivability something has to give, namely MF % and DPS. ;)

With good ES gear and some adjustments to the tree you can easily get 12k ES and your golems will still be extremely overpowerd... if you don't like dying. ;)
