Blight and scorching ray are new - are they in the top 50 ?
It's nowhere close to this, for good reasons ( or I missed the players, I've not checked all of them so it's possible ).
So even though there is a certain hype about it, it's there in the top 20 for good reasons, but it's very strong.

the only way i managed to make sr competetive was abusing COCH WI AOF.
it's pretty nice, and what's more important frees so much points and gear power from manaregen.

What about the clearspeed ? I doubt that you can blow up screens of monsters like the top meta skills onsidering its mechanics ( or is there a way to increase the rotation speed ? )

i linked sr-coch-iaoe-controlled d-firestorm + unlinked cold to fire, dont have 6l WI, so i cast both firestorm and converted icstorm triggered by scorching ray. aof tree, nothing special.

it's fun, clearspeed is okay.

not like LA indeed, but decent and fun to play.

Oh CWC is pretty fun, I used Scorching Ray with Firestorm and yes you essentially get rid of the mana costs of skills and since CWC gives you a slight multiplier you are technically still on a 5l and benefit from the fire resistance removal of Scorching ray. You also safe cast speed, which is cool too.

A CWC build could be very powerful, however I assume that Blade Flurry is a lot more obvious in its power you don't have to figure out how it works, it is just a generic AoE attack after all and scales with exactly the same things that Reave or Lacerate do. And it is a very quick jump to go from a more damage mod to double dipping for poison and bleed, which is something the assassin as one of the obvious choices for Blade Flurry gets anyway.

So I could see Scorching Ray + Cast while Channeling setups, but I assume it is harder to figure them out. I replace my Curse on Hit setups already with Scorching Ray + CWC, because it is essentially the same and debuffs fire resistance a bit.


So Cast while Channeling and Scorching ray are simply balanced, which means hardly anyone will play it. There is the usual oddball in the Top50, you have someone every league that plays some very strange things (like a Dualstrike Berserker, Firestorm CI Juggernaut, Rain of Arrows Deadeye), but if you see 3 of a skill in the Top50 you can be pretty sure its above average, if you see 15 or so its broken^^.

Blade Flurry is definitly not broken, maybe people might figure something out that makes it a lot better but since they seem to have removed the +2 Stage Enchantment I can't see something people could come up with. So its a good skill, not broken and right now there isn't really any reason to further nerf it.

Daily reminder this is a dogshit skill and only reason it's good is because the other melee skills are more dogshit.

There are other characters that could be also ( pathfinders for example ), but cannot be sure.

Nugiyen respeced Necro to play bladeflurry without a slightly different build ( using the unique claw "the scourge" ), so he is not leveling the Pathfinder anymore.
He is #55 ladder with it.
Only level 79 with the new char, just starting.

I actually DID say that claw was extremely overtuned in the right build and I stand by that comment. People are failing to utilize it correctly though, and the idea to go necro is interesting but still not what I think the OP use of that claw is. We'll see what nugiyen does with it though. It should've taken the nerf BF got, or at least part of the nerf.

Also, dontstandonballs is dead. There's literally nobody using BF in the top 50 that I can see that isn't dead or a streamer, and most of the streamers using it are even dead. Nugiyen changing builds is an indicator. This is something you need to grasp fully.

P.S. the game is boring past 80, don't sweat dying in the 80s. I don't even level my softcore chars to 90.
