Grimdawn vs poe ? ( tying to find " tha game " )

the epitome of arrogance - people are discussing a competitor game right under your noses and not an iota of response from mods whatsoever. sit high on your laurels for now but as soon as the next arpg comes along won't skip a beat to play it. check out lost ark also mentioned in other threads. it's in korean but devs are considering an english port.

or they just realize that most gamers are going to play more than one game. I play others, but come back to POE everytime they have something new or a new season
In Grim Dawn you can easily cheat , that's all I am going to say .

Grim Dawn is decent and I have spent many hours playing it. The only thing is that 99% of attacks/skills look like crap. The engine looks like it hasn't changed much since Titan Quest in 2006.

Playing around with the Devotion tree is fun though and poison builds and summoner builds are pretty OP. Other builds feel mediocre and slow in comparison.

thats funny I feel like poison kills too slow, and summoner builds are pretty weak, especially on higher difficulties

personally I think Shaman combos with Primal Strike pretty much own everything, especially if you do Grimarillion mod and pair with Champion
Well there are some builds you can sorta replicate from PoE in Grim Dawn. That's what I like about it. Also how its not as grainy in colors compared to Path of Exile. Let's not forget that enemies can ragdoll on death.

Ethereal Knives -> Phantasmal Blades (Nightblade)

Elemental Hit -> Iskandra's Elemental Exchange (Arcanist)

Tornado Shot -> Panetti's Replicating Missile (Arcanist)

Arc Totem//Chaos Arc Totem -> Storm Totem//Storm Totem with Corrupted Storm Augment (Shaman)

Static Strike -> Brute Force with all Upgrades (Shaman)

Essence Drain -> Dreeg's Evil Eye (Occultist)

I play both games, and each has their own niche to it (targeted audience is what I meant to say). Both games are still ditching out contents (just earlier today Grim Dawn had an update that includes 28 new legendary items and revised about 90 epic items).

I recommend playing both, but not at the same time. lol

OT: I wonder which game will release act 5 first since both has their major expansion being worked on as I am typing.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Grim Dawn is certainly worth the $24 bucks to try it out... I think you wont feel cheated even if you end up liking POE better.. Still worth it youll get your moneys worth.

Multiplayer is peer to peer so its not really an online multiplayer deal you have a friend you link up with them and play thats about it there.

Much like POE the damage and such gets pretty crazy especilly if you dont make a solid build. But once i learn the classes and trees its pretty easy to figure out whats gonna do your setup the best and form there proper gear covers the rest. If you ever played Titan Quest its pretty much the same game on steroids made from one of main dudes who helped make it. He bought the engine and made Grim Dawn pretty much.

Indy studio, small company with big ideas. And they have made a pretty solid ARPG. And they are still adding to it all the time so. Give it a try man. I liked it alot i played the shit out of it for quite a while.
There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.

I believe I will have a Steam key for Grim Dawn to give away with this month's Humble Bundle. In case anyone is interested. :)

I'll have to check first after work to be sure, though.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.

the leveling is so slow and the storyline ends at below 50 where you will most likely have finished the game, the only real option for leveling besides from the crusible is running around in the world trying to search out the best leveling spots which imo was unbereable

The story line in PoE ends at around 40-45, where you technically finish the game.
then we can redo it all 2 more times and go through the other 2 difficulties and move on to mapping for endless hours to farm up gear that we can use to expand our tier capabilities from 1-16 and then beat all the bosses and get awsome gear and stuff with next to nothing stoping us from leveling up... unfortunately PoE is far superior when it comes to endgame contents. i will say tho that i believe the storyline of grim dawn is just slightly longer if you take the first normal act in poe, however it's far more enjoyable in PoE and less confusing where you are suppose to go.

When you get to this point you make another character and start over. If you did play each type of character you can make then yah this game could keep you going for thousands of hours as their are so many combos you can do.
nah man, PoE does the same, but better. haven't even spent a thousand hours yet in PoE
