Grimdawn vs poe ? ( tying to find " tha game " )

Grim Dawn is okay. I played for a month or so. Not much to say. It was pretty "meh" for me.

The big let down is end game... in that it doesnt really exist (or at least didnt then)

The story line in PoE ends at around 40-45, where you technically finish the game.

Both suck dick, but would stick to poe since every FUCKING 2010+ games are just massive pile of shit.
Been playing a lot of grim dawn and very little POE now and it will keep you occupied really well until you max your level and complete game on ultimate and ultimate arena. (100-200 hours.) Then there is nothing to do. Grim Dawn has non-existent end game. No mapping. Nothing to do and challenge you anymore. When you get to this point you make another character and start over. If you did play each type of character you can make then yah this game could keep you going for thousands of hours as their are so many combos you can do. Really nice game. If it had any sort of endgame map thing then it would be better than POE. The stellar star system is quite awesome.

I love both games and have played Grim Dawn since well into early access. I always come back to PoE in new leagues. Once a league is over I go back to grim dawn. I also watch Arc which looks AMAZING if it delivers.
While I like the concept of combining classes (masteries) in Grim Dawn, I feel like the abilities are not very engaging. A lot of the time one just rotates through cooldowns and facetanks various enemies. There is not a whole lot of options for AoE and the reliance on potions is tiresome.
Light as a neutral force.

The new flesh emerges.
There is absolutely no reason to not throw those 20 - 30 bucks for Grim Dawn and try it. It's the best alternative to PoE, currently on the market.

Pros of GD:

- much better itemization of magic & rare gear than in PoE
- looting is still fun even when you reach lvl cap & "endgame"
- better optimization / performance
- much better inventory space (but worse stash space)
- lots of build diversity & gearing options
- deterministic crafting

Cons of GD:

- no real endgame (it's more akin to Baal runs than anything else)
- at it's core is a solo self-found game (this is not a con for me, but it prob. is for many)
- beautiful but static map. No dynamic content generation
- it's just as rippy as PoE, with burst damage and "OMG I died, WTF??!"

What PoE does better than GD:

- combat feels better in PoE, more "impactful" & satisfying
- endgame in PoE is much more engaging & interesting
- there's a lot more stuff to do / achieve in PoE

Grim dawn is all about probability. The hood skills only have a chance to activate during an attack for example. The customization is as good as poe. Multiplayer is non existant. Game can be hacked easily. Story is good.

Poes trading adpect makes the difference and the way skills work. In grim dawn you are limited by skill points and 2 class choices and ur gear.

Poe is free so you can play both.

Grim Dawn's mods are insanely fun

DAIL, Grimarillion especially, and the new one being made (in Alpha) based of Median from TQ

however there really is no multiplayer, at best you find 5 people in public games, and they usually have their games locked
I've been playing Grim Dawn, Dark Souls 3 and MTGO. Highly recommend them all.
