" Stopped reading here. If you dont know how good feeling you got in closed beta when you got your orbs for a race then please dont comment if the new prize or old system is better or worse. You have no idea. |

as much as i like the point ranking idea ( which i was the initiator like 8 months ago) i really feel like this form of pointing is going to make casual and normal people less attracted to Events because there is only one way to make points and its to grind to lvl 19 thats it.
only no-lifer will be the ones that can get the ''first'' points... and seriously, who gives a damn about grinding 3 hours of 1h events just to get a damn Redbeak id rather have the currency prices back instead of these Cosmetic craps that dont really worth anything Ingame ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

This system is absolutely unattractive to casual players. You can hardly argue with that. It may be a good system for the hardcore players depending on rewards.
Since most players are casual (in the sense that they cannot spend several hours a day playing), chances are that most money will be coming from these casuals. Thus, PoE really needs a system that caters to casual players to sustain itself. It may not be these races, they can stay just fun for the top elite, but if so, then some other system must be designed to keep casual players playing (and spending). |

how many sockets come in these rewards? Is it random or what?
There can only be one Oatmeal.

" not only that, atleast the 'RANDOM CURRENCIES'' system was appealing for many reasons: 1)you have straight pay for your effort 2)you dont have to try to trade your crappy unique because you obviously dont care about it 3)you get more for only 1 event... 3)you feel like you tiem spent grinding low players worth the time not spent on your regular one 4)Best of all... you want to spend that much time grinding a low player just in case that the roll is good and you get like Exalted or miror... As i said... when i first came with the idea, 1 level=1point=1currency, points where only used in the end to reward the top players ie: top 10 of the season gets a Demigod i feel that this system if Win win, for the no-lifer, the casuals and the ones between them ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

" This is a really good point. If, halfway through a season, we realize that it's going to be nearly impossible to reach the next reward tier even if we attend every event we are capable of attending, our motivation to participate in the rest of the season will mostly be gone. Yes, I know part of the point is just to compete and have fun, but races can also be really stressful at times, and to go through that stress while knowing you have little to no chance to reach the next reward tier will really really suck. What about this: Keep the current unique reward tiers, but make several smaller tiers that only award small amounts of currency. Or, allow our "leftover" reward points to be converted into currency at the end of the season. This way, we have more reason to participate, and we wont feel our time is wasted if we can't reach the next tier before the season is over. Also, I really hope we are still going to be able to win micro-transaction credit for the 1 week HC races. If the only reward from the 1 week races are reward points and Demigod's Triumphs, I have a feeling they will be much much less enticing. Overall, I feel like these "reward points" should have been ON TOP of the prizes for individual races, to give a sense of progression and something more to strive for without replacing the individual race prizes. In closed beta, the winners list of each race often had a lot of the same names showing up over and over, and this new reward structure seems geared toward those players even more, and is probably going to leave the rest of us feeling left behind. " Yes, because it is so terribly hard to imagine getting some currencies after a race. This might be the dumbest reply to a post ever. I am fairly certain people can accurately decide for themselves if currencies or other rewards would be more fun to them.....since it is their opinion and all. |

Can anyone enlighten me as to the level to expect when making my tech tree?

" This. Give out orbs at preset thresholds that are situated in between thresholds for Unique Items. 1 Alchemy orb at 10 1 Chaos orb at 20 1 Regal Orb at 45 1 GCP at 90 2 GCP at 180 1 Divine Orb at 360 (values not final obviously). Considering how many people will realistically attain even the 90 point threshold, I feel it is safe to assume that these prices would do nothing to the economy (which as others have pointed out, will turn to hell very quickly anyway). I would go as far as to say that even rewards above multiplied by 5 would not be crazy, since a season is 6 weeks long. I myself think it would be better to bring back rewards after every race in terms of orbs but since GGG wants to do away with that (and as some have pointed out, it may have to do with spending less time after each race creating chars and giving them orbs), system suggested above might be a good compromise to start with.
