We understand that this system greatly favours players who play in more events. That’s true of almost any sport or hobby. We’ve pitched the prizes so that there are still cool things to win even if you can only play in one event per week.
Most sports and hobbies don't require you to live with your parents to be competitive. Good thing you balanced this by making the rewards terrible though.

the "overall XP" progress is a fine addition to the race rewards. that means that even if you don´t get under the "top 20" you still can earn prices.
but i really dislike that GGG didn´t came up with more race types. atm we only have single/party/turbo race. and all are XP progression races. i really really hope that GGG comes up with some more unique races over the course of seasone one. there are a lot of great ideas for races in the forum and i think GGG should really looking in those suggestions.

Please read the info on the races and do the math. It shouldn't take an average player more then 20-30 hours (in six weeks) to grind a very usefull ilvl 100 Coral Ring.

The usefulness of an ilvl 100 Coral Ring <<<<<<< 20-30 hours. I could grind the actual game content for 20-30 hours and generate many multiples of wealth compared to that silly Coral Ring.

20 hours for a coral ring that can roll the same stats as any coral ring from high end maps. I hope this was sarcasm.

The ultimate reason you need to give currency rewards for races is that entering a race COSTS currency.
When racing you spend all your currency to try and race just that much better, then if you do poorly you will often come out behind, or break even on currency, if you do well you can rake in a big payday, but the winners of races do deserve something.
By removing the currency reward for racing you risk ruining racing, and causing players to just play for 3hours in a 3 hour race league and play normally the whole time... they won't use that orb of alchemy on their level 20 weapon to try and win the race, they'll just save it and accept losing the race because that orb is worth more than the prize they would've possibly earned by spending it... this will taint race results.
All of this not to mention that currency you lose by simply not playing normal leagues for those 3 hours. GGG just does not understand the issue with what is happening to their economy here, races were never the enemy, there's no proof or evidence that races damage the economy. There is evidence that the economy is being damaged, yes? possibly? but since there have been NO RACES... that's almost proof that races aren't to blame.
100% agree with this.
