Labyrinth has killed any motivation to make new characters for me.

Just enter to hardcore league and you will find the new motivation :)

At the start, the initial prospect of new ascendancy classes outweighed how boring and tagged on the lab was for character progression but after 4 or 5 builds in Perandus, yeah... now I don't wanna make anything new anymore, or try stuff on Standard. If lab stays as it is for future leagues (as in tied to points), I'll be down to maybe one reroll before calling it until the next patch.

I swear that one person does not KNOW what optional means holy shit.
Dys an sohm

Yeah... I felt this way at first. Yet, in hindsight, I now have 5 characters... anyway. (6 if you count the Scion that I killed to Bearers in Gorge.)

Will hit 90 with each of them this league, and maybe push one of them higher... so, yeah... Lab ended up not having that effect on me after all. (Well, I probably had 8x 80+ characters last league.)

Wanting to play with Ascendancy classes, New skills, and Perandus lootz helped keep me wanting to keep playing this league.

While I hate the lag of spam from Perandus mobs, followed by the worse lag of actually hitting the perandus mobs... this still has been perhaps the most enjoyable league ever...

Even the occasional baby rage at the Lab has been overcome by having some real fun in there.
Except for the lab , where was the content in this so called expansion ?

There are some solid ideas for the good changes, but this stupid agenda pushing of ruining it for people who like it, because some people don't like it is absurd. Don't expect sympathy and understanding (or support) from people you don't want to talk with, but instead are calling for them to get fucked over. :V

Yeah, I know you do - you were not the target of what I wrote. :) It's just that every time I've voiced my opinion, a small army of (the same) people turn up and insist I'm doing things wrong, that I'm bad, or whatever. And yet I keep saying, over and over again, that difficulty has never been a problem for me. I don't find the Lab difficult, I don't find it challenging, and I don't enjoy it at all. That's all there is to it.

The main problem is that they gate the ascendancy classes behind it. If it wasn't for that, I'd just stand back and be happy that some players got a new thing they seem to enjoy. Which is great of course, I'm honestly happy for those who enjoy it. To me, however, it really has killed the desire to roll new characters. Leveling and labyrinthing (nice word huh) and the act 4 slog - it just adds up, I don't like it anymore. And making new builds is one of my favourite things in PoE, so obviously this makes me sad.

Oh well, I'm returning to Standard for a bit. Maybe it's time to hit 100, who knows.
I am doing the same as you Ceri. I had a few really awesome builds ideas i wanted to try out, but when comparing what's more boring, doing the lab again or doing maps over and over again like a mindless grinding robot, i chose the lesser evil. I just got 94 today and i am gonna shoot for 95, unless i shoot my brains out first, that is.

Fuck, i really wanted to do that dominating blow pathfinder character.
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

Wanna switch - I get constantly insulted by Regulator, be it calling me a child, ignorant, calling my country different things, and so on? :P
I think he might hate me. Sad it takes so little for some people to turn a discussion into hatred. Oh well.

Anyways, addressing what you said - problem is, there is little other rewards for running lab. Sure, there are enchants and chests, but for some people it isn't enough. Running Lab once to get the class seems enough for a reward (for some people). And this is why we have this huge problem here - we either take it out, and take some of the fun in Ascending for some people, or we leave it in, and some people will suffer because they don't like Lab.

And please (not talking to you now, Ceri :P) refrain from telling me that no people enjoy Ascending in Lab, because if you do, I will tell you that everyone loves it. Your word against my word - nothing proven.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.

Yes, this is an important point. I agree that the Lab is unrewarding. The enchants are a good idea, but far too random for my taste. If they could somehow improve the rewards (like has been suggested elsewhere; improving chests and side-zones, higher zone levels etc) enough so as to make it actually rewarding to plough thru the whole Lab - that would be a great thing. First make it a rewarding end-game experience, then move the ascendancy classes elsewhere. I'd say that is a win-win.

Except for normal and cruel laboratories.
