[2.2] Full Block Earthquake with Varunastra + Aegis (Gladiator)

I added 6L + Helm part to the guide,

tldr:
BoR = Budget
6L = Expensive
Figured I'd drop in and share my update. Been playing HCP since last week with this build and really enjoying it. Currently running this:

I also have this sitting around:

Ready to switch over once I get it 5L with the currency to make some jewelry swaps. I have been sustaining mana with the paltry amount of leech on a ring, which seemed better than using my Jewel sockets considering the circumstances.

I've found myself able to dash into just about anything, but for a lot of the higher tier maps I run them with a pure support character which makes the both of us practically immortal. Multiple damage mods + minus max we usually will not do, but having one without the other is no problem. One of the things that I enjoy the most about the build is the ability to try new things, which is probably the prime benefit of block.

I think for HC, the transition over to the lightning coil will be the requirement to stepping into the final tier of maps. It is obvious that this can be a bit of defensive overkill, but allows me to better cover those perfect storm scenarios that have a tendency to kill my HC characters. The hits that aren't blocked have to be mitigated as much as possible and while the Aegis Aurora helps, the lightning coil just does it better.

I also experimented a great deal between the Vengeance, Retribution combination and having a CWDT/Immortal call setup. Ultimately I stuck with the IC because I'm proactive about my endurance charges anyway and can help avoid those one in a million incidental one-shots. I think the hardest part about hardcore poe endgame is balancing damage with mitigation, understanding that the sooner you kill everything the less chance they have to hurt you. I'll continue to experiment with this as I build my T12+ base and see where I end up. This is definitely my favorite build of the league.

I want to share my thoughts on skill tree for BoR version.

I did two changes to it,
1st, left side of the tree, change mace cirle to axe circle and pathing
In this way I get more dps, this not a stun build so so need to go to mace cirle. I am also able to drop one 4 life/3 all resist node since I get enough from gear to cover elemental weakness without this node. I am also able to pick 0.2 life regen per endurance charge in late game.

2nd, jew slot in duelist area, use str instead of dex to pass through. We still have enough dex to run lvl 20 faster attacks.

Here is my tree with 110 points:

Hi, in the rare set up without BOR , what about using belly of the beast chest and a rare armor helm ? You lose a bit es and armour but the increased life may be worth ?

Hey, thanks for sharing :)

Lightning coil is a great choice but I would get IR if I am using Lightning coil.
I personally don't like IC cwdt on this build since
I lose endurance charges at some point even with non stop spamming enduring cry. If I were to use IC, I would use very high level of CWDT+IC setup OR self cast.

Hello,

I got mace stun nodes not because of damage, but because it can be useful on defensive side.
I can stun many of the rare mobs with those nodes in high tier maps. (And stun on ghosts :D)

But this is personal preference, I know some people prefer onslaught node from axes.

For 2nd part, if you have no problem with dex, going gthrough str is better.

Belly is fine as well, but if I would choose other unique body armor, it would be lightning coil with IR.
I also think after around 6k+ life, I think armor is better than life for aegis setup, but it's just my opinion.
I am not very good at this game but i've amassed more currency this league than i have in previous and decided to give this build a try. Killed atziri first try underlevelled, my very first atziri kill of all time. Lovely guide, very easy to follow. Thank you.
Hi,
thanks for this cool build...self found Varunastra and bought BoR.
At the moment using a Tabula Rasa for levelling but I need to use
mana leech. At lvl 55 my dmg is sitting at a low 2.100 k
Probably I am gonna get a Karui as levelling is so slow.
How do you guys mitigate the mana issue or is my playstyle wrong?

Any comments with sense are welcome.
