[2.2] Full Block Earthquake with Varunastra + Aegis (Gladiator)

Hi, nice build, kinda reminiscent of my BoR FB max block cyclone build, but i have some questions.
What was your dps in Colosseum video. I'm sitting at 22k atm, and find some bosses/tanky rares hard to kill quickly. Also what about your armour, I'm at around 7k, isn't it a bit too low for melee char. I guess i can get 1shot with unlucky crit. Do you die often in high tier maps? Can you kill wasteland boss, or he heals too much?

Hey man,

Just stopping by to say that I found your guide while starting my EQ Champion with Marohi Erqi and stumbled upon this build by accident.

I loved the idea and I have to say I'm glad I changed my passive skills to switch for it (luckily I was still early in my tree and the base is kinda similar). I've really been enjoying playing it. I'm now lvl 81 and it feels very fucking strong and fun at the same time. What really sold it to me is being both EQ and still having insane movespeed through whirl blades.

I farmed very easily with just Varunastra and BoR in T7 and I'm now facetanking everything in T10 with Aegis Aurora. Heck even Temporal Chains and Reflect on map don't scare me (switching AoE for Phys2L in Phys reflect maps and they're a breeze).

If I could suggest one thing though, I would have loved some leveling tip in your guide. I myself level'd with 2-handed but since you end up putting quite a lot in %block/1h damage/shield damage, it gets "harder" (still wrecking everything with proper Uniques though) by lvl 50 until you get to lvl 64 for Varunastra (where you basically triple your DPS).

Marohi Erqi now are much cheaper so someone could by one by lvl 57 I guess. So if someone's reading this and wondering :

Buy (in order) : Limbsplit (lvl 13) -> Reaper's Pursuit (lvl 33) -> The Blood Reaper (lvl 45) -> Marohi Erqi (lvl 57).
You can easily sell them back for what you bought them once you switch to the next one (they cost between 1 alch and 1c so definitely affordable, esp. since you get your money back), and they enough for you to one-shot everything during leveling.

I would also suggest buying a
that helps with mana issues for up to lvl 45~ (I ended up having mana issues at that point because I was using a 6L through Tabula Rasa. Shouldn't be a problem with a 3/4L.)

I leveled purely 1-handed and it is super ok. Few cheap uniques and after lvl 40-45 high dps cheap rare did the trick. Facetanked everything except cruel Izaro at level 57. Was using perandus shield till I changed to aegis.

I really enjoyed the build and felt so strong... that I opened unidentified stronbox on top of huge blue pack corpses. Yeah.. GG corpse explosion.

I almost never reroll the same build when I die but already bought another Sword + BoR. Aegis will be tough tho as I'm broke :D

Thanks for the build.
Author, biggest THX for awesom build. This char tanky so good and dps very nice.
First in Perandus i finish Merciles Izaro on lvl 70 (and it was easy, but i have Vulnerability all labirynth, w\o it its just easy walk in forest)). Also see Argus, and kill them too. OMG my RF and ice trapper characters have BIG trouble whit Argus, but gladiator OP)))
Have 4700 hp
73% dual block (use Lioneye)
12k dps whit Increased aoe and auras (19k whit concentrated)
Gear realy crap, 1c for each)))

I rarely die in high tier maps, mostly by running dangerous maps such as max resist, reflect etc.
Only boss I had trouble was t15 core map, and other than that I was able to face tank.

I am very surprised how many people are actually following this build.
When I first made this build guide, it was more like a "gear/passive show thread" for reddit video.

Thank you for sharing your leveling experience, I am not sure which way is the most optimized way to level, but I'll update the guide with leveling part soon

Hey, thanks for sharing!
I am sure there are lots of people who will see this helpful on their own gear setup to compare
Nice Build!

I`m having some trouble to find a nice price on Aegis Aurora, ppl are overpricing it a lot.
If anyone got an Aegis for Sale send me a message to negociate :>

----------------

Any thoughts on getting a +1 curse amulet or even windscream boots to be able to double curse mobs?
Reckoning>CoH>Temp Chains>Enfeble

not sure if it`ll be beneficial to the build, would like to hear some opinions about it.

thanks :>
I love this build my first build was the real old 1 handed block aegis build( also in the duelist forum) converted to earthquake.
I didn't use a Varunastra but a rare mace but the concept was the same, i sadly died in HC on the chicken boss in village ruin map, and i remade this toon then i found out your topic and found out about some nice tips and my rebuild is doing well.
anyway good build alot of fun.
