SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]

No. You are saying exactly this. By asking me constantly if I would do sidequests if there were no rewards.

So you're saying you're doing quests with a good reward for your own reasons and not because of the reward?

I already answered this.

You said you're doing the pointless quests just because you want to. I'm doing those for the same reason but I'm doing the rewarding ones for the reward, there's a difference in motivation, the former ones are not a carrot but the latter ones are. It doesn't matter in the slightest if I'd do them anyway or not, they go in different stomachs, so to speak.

If the quest is interesting and funny I do it even without reward. Killing, looting monsters and leveling is fun. If it is not for you, you are playing the wrong game.
Because of that I do not need a discrete reward (but I do not complain if there is any) to look for Deshret, because it is core aRPG gameplay. Ergo it is fun.
I need to have a reward for running lab. Because it is uninteresting content, totally out of place in PoE.
Because of that Lab requires additional 'carrots', because without them many people would ignore this content. This alone is enough to show that there are many problems with lab.
"War's over, soldier. You just don't know it yet. Everybody lost."
Well, I suppose it's clear enough now why some elements of PoE design strike you as a bit outlandish. You're a dying breed of an ARPG player and the game isn't being designed for people like you anymore.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

player base with blond hair could use the same equation that I was using.

No it would not, because people with blond hairs don't have a particular incentive to come and complain (unless you can prove me wrong).
People that dislike something do.
He also pointed out what I have been trying to explain you at first :
" Also of course you're not dealing with possible alt account and other trolls, or the fact that people are more likely to post negative feedback so the flat extrapolation isn't correct."
But he focused on other points that also showed flaws in your reasoning.

What you responded was pure goobly-gook nonsense. I never claimed any such thing about people with blond hair. I can't imagine that you even tried to understand the post that you're trying to respond to. It would be much appreciated if you tried a bit harder for quality instead of quantity when responding.

Your mathematical assertions are not in line with your statements. It is okay to not understand mathematics. However, people without any understanding of mathematics should not try to lecture people about mathematics.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

And the only reason that people go kill the deep dweller or do the Fairgraves' side quest, is also to fill out their character.
Granted, those other side quests are much quicker and easier than the lab, but it does not remove the fact that it is the only reason why people do those.

You keep using this specious argument and it just doesn't hold water. These quests don't remove a player from the main game, they also don't require knowledge of traps and other Prince of Persia like nonsense.

There is no "main game", the amount of knowledge you need does not matter either

Are you sure you're not playing some other game?

"
what does not hold water however is saying "the lab is obviously bad,

Suggesting my argument doesn't hold water because of my personal opinion, isn't much of a rebuttal. You apparently believe the lab is good, I do not, at least in it's current form.

"
people go in there to get the AC!!!"

They do.

"
Saying that you don't like the way the lab is however is a different argument all together

It's completely relevant this thread.

last time we had a thread this long the chained girls got removed, at least we got some new girls back on the mana/health globes.

oh well, such is life.
I have extra beta keys and I'm not giving them out

PoE1 > PoE2

Compare with the points you get for Piety, they aren't a carrot right now but they used to be. Why do you think that is?

I have to kill Piety. Carrot or no carrot. Before she was a farming boss (like Meph in D2) anyway.

The lab is a farming area anyway.
As we told you earler : both ARE carrots on sticks.
The lab is just a much bigger stick, with a much bigger carrot.
But those things are carrots on sticks.

So if the deep dweller had absolutely no reward, you would systematically go there, right ?
No you would not, you would go to something that basically gives you the same experience, but with reward, try to be honest even for a second...

Fixed that for you.

I have no idea how you got completely lost there to be honest.
I pointed out how "player base with blond hair could use the same equation that I was using." was not a good comparison, I pointed out the flaws in your reasoning.

So yeah, try harder to understand maths (and logic) if you want to have statistics that actually mean something.

There is no "main game", there is the game, that is Path of Exile, period.
The length of the stick and the size of the carrot do not in the slightest change the fact that a carrot is a carrot, and a stick is a stick ( which the side "quests" for skillpoints are, like the lab is ).
Saying that you don't like how the lab is is absolutely irrelevant to the fact that those things are all carrots on sticks, and whatever you say will not change this fact.
The end.

PS : when there is a sentence, cutting it in half will make you unable to understand it fully.
It's actually fallacious if you did it on prupose.

Sad outcome it was.
It's pretty different here though, some "politically correct" BS is not putting pressure directly on GGG.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I disagree, but it's obviously a pointless argument.

I've no idea what you're raving about now, I thought we'd already covered this pages ago.

Lol! I didn't include "It does" and as far as your concerned, that's a major deception! Do you read /r/conspiracy by any chance?
