It's not skill based.

Many lab aficionados are quick to point out how simply it is conquered by running through with the correct pots, build and gear.

Well, isnt that one sort of player skills? I mean picking ur flasks and such accordingly or swapping out gear to match the area is pretty much what player skills are in ARPG or not?

Only if you consider it a skill to visit a website and read for 5 minutes, visit xyz for some path of shopping and pay a couple orbs (farmed at normal fellshrine) to a jobless guy for a free pass.

As much as the lab would use some more restrictions regqrding carries, that here was just nan aweful and terrible ideas for reasons repeated many times, and in this thread.

And you won't get an answer from GGG here, you should now that by now.

Of course I don't but I can show how little they give a shit about our opinions.

Maybe that has a reason, maybe it's because your opinions are just horrible. Maybe your ideas are not good and GGG simply do not agree with you and therefor do not reply or show any support for these opinions. The polite thing to do when you disagree is to do it in silence, and GGG employees, from my personal experience, are very polite.

Let us be frank here, it's only due to this polite and friendly nature that this thread has been allowed to go on for this long. MAYBE... you should have seen this by now after nearly 500 pages.

If this thread is anything, it is a testament to your ignorance. (Along with a few others, you know who you are)
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.

Maybe they want to turn the game into tunnels and trolls also who knows? Oh you are not the tunnel.

Amen...

Let's look at the facts, the game is more and more popular, Ascendancy has been a success because it made the game more popular. More people play this game since. Nearly everyone enjoy this new content, the players in general, the community, the streamer. Check all over the forum or in Reddit. People love it, except a very small minority who feel the need to yell it out loud they don't enjoy it.

People in this thread should wake up, if the lab was a very unpopular and unsuccesful content it would have been fixed long ago. And also they should realize that even if the entire forum would HATE the lab, it would still be a tiny minority among the player base. Most players don't even comment or read the forum. The real facts are in the numbers of players and the popularity of the game. And since the game is more and more popular and more people are supporting it's dev it's safe to say the lab and ascendancy has been a success.

oh and let's add one more thing: how to prove you guys are so wrong not only it remained inchanged.... GGG ended up adding a 4th lab in map with more trials. They even started making some boss fights with traps in maps. If they invest more time mayyyyybe mayyyyyybe it's because people enjoyed it and it is popular

Honestly the influence the lab actually had is just impossible to put in numbers. Yes the player numbers went up, this is a very simple fact, but while this suggests that the lab didn't ruin the game you could still ask if the increase numbers could have been higher without it.

The only thing we can very safely say is that at this point GGG accepted that some people simply dislike the lab. And although there are still some obvious flaws in the lab (trials being one of the most obvious one, because they are a bit annoying and pretty meaningless), other areas have much bigger issues and concentrating on them seems like a better choice.

At this point everyone should have realized that the lab will not get major changes in the near future. Because the lab was not bad enough to have a meassurable negative impact on the development of PoE and obviously it was not pleasing everyone either, so it is basically just there. And other mechanics in the game are not generally liked either, but people just accepted them. Because even if GGG might not be particularly happy with certain areas, they hardly tell unless they have things in the works to address them.

let me weight further.... if the lab had a slight negative impact on the game, do you think GGG would have added a 4th lab, even more trials and even some boss fights with traps? Answer is it has some positive outcome that were mesured by GGG in statistics and numbers. That is simple facts and statistics, and Math don't lie it's not an opinion it's a fact and it's not arguable.
Well the 4th lab was already there when the Ascendancy launched. It just wasn't activated yet. Had nothing to do with success or failure of something.

The lab came out around a year ago. They are just now fixing cyclone which came out several years ago. You also have to remember that GGG constantly put themselves into harsh time constraints when it comes to releasing new content. So odds are, if they wanted to do something with the lab, it probably wouldn't be for awhile.

Can also check the lab enchants, the fact that they are still are adding tons of value to items means the supply is lower but demand is still there. If we are the 1% then after a week or so, pages upon pages of enchants should exist where they would drop in price to really low levels.

Then take the fact that many people are paying to be carried through it. These people either don't like the lab, or can't do it. Whichever the reason, paying someone to do it for you pretty much defeats the purpose of the content. That must be popular as well since players are making profit off lab carries.

GGG are very good at marketing and hyping up there content. With the failure of D3, this is the go to ARPG now. While I think PoE is a great game, I do believe a ton of concepts and not quite pushed to their potential. The lab is one of them imo.

We aren't flying over to the GGG offices with pitchforks, we are discussing a piece of content on a forum thread. Maybe they care, maybe they don't. Maybe they will do something, maybe they won't. There is a difference between fixed and improved, we are discussing ways to improve the lab. Is it so wrong to want to see a game you enjoy improved?

GGG had FFA loot which was unpopular as hell for years and the game was still popular. One horrible feature that can be bought around isn't going to kill the game. Doesn't mean it's good or popular either.

One thing everyone seems to kind of agree on (to some extent or another) on is the carries for the Lab need to end.

The only thing here that needs to end is this topic. It's getting to an unhealthy stage now for some of you. Let it go.
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

You're projecting.

Don't like the thread? Don't read it. Scram. It's not about or for you anyway.

You're a nobody like every other forum user and hold no authority over what stays and goes. The fact that it's still alive should tell you that GGG wants us to have our voice.

Begone, trollish one.
