SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
So how would everyone feel if they decided to move alternate ascendancy points to unlocked by PvP and the Leo master guy?
It seems like the sort of move GGG would make :) |

" I wouldn't mind it too much myself but they would have to be utterly dense to lock it away behind abandonware content and I'd be the first one to say so, regardless of how I personally feel about it. " It would probably be a different story if killing mooks wasn't absolutely trivial, I wouldn't be surprised if deaths by normal monsters turned out to be under 1% of all lab deaths. Uber trials are more focused on traps, though, monsters are there just to refill your pots, which I actually like, lab should probably be like that too. Oh boy, here we go again :
" They got inspired by other games, no shit sherlock ?!? I'm stunned, we all are here. The note says : " There is ony gaunglet ( one ) affectionally nicknamed the "frogger gauntlet", fair enough. Defenses do matter to a certain extent against traps. Spikes => armour Darts => evade, block, dodge For the rest => movespeed ( best defensive stat in the game, literally ) and regeneration do matter. The flasks are also an important defensive ( but not only ) element of the game, and it matters a lot regarding traps. " Honestly not sure there, trying to not get hit at all is a bit counterproductive as it takes too much time often, but Idont remember situations where you cannot avoid damage if you want to ( apart from real melees in uber lab maybe, in some cases, not all). PS : And they said that traps "punctuate" the labyrinth by the way, they only "punctuate". Let me show it in bold so that you can actually see it : The traps punctuate the labyrinth. " NO Stop there, you are not the community or anything, you do not represent the PoE players. Your "we" or "us" has no value. And for the next post, comparing Lab and Pacman is soo ridiculous it's pathetic seriously, it shows how much bad faith you have there, as much as the "copy pasted" you used. You are sooo mad lol it's crazy, you should chill out for a bit maybe .... There is no "disrespect" here ( we could eventually see your own disrespect toward GGG I guess), you don't know how to use that word it seems. ---- One of the lines in the notes of the presentation is pure BS : " GGG, it would have been amazing if you would have followed this rule, but you really have not. Not seeing where to go is one of the thing that probably pisses many players in the lab, I don't like it either, and there are such cases. " Nop, it is definitely not the sort of move that GGG would make. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" Really? Where did you see that? Surely not in the announcement thread, all I see there are you and your ilk getting triggered by the contents of the thread. :) Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

I just came back to POE from the beta. Found a lot of amazing content but.. labyrinth.
As I see across this forums, youtube comments and reddit, 95% of people hate, it's not fun, its tedious. But 5% 'loudmouths omg rofltnoobs its so easy for me' people will always defend it. Sight. |

The only real question I see concerning this topic :
Can the developer step on his pride and acknowledge that putting a part of the main game, subclasses, behind something that should be optional, labyrinth, was an error. As we can see in the xbox trailer at 1:27 : choose from 3 classes, each with 3 subclasses. Nice, a rpg with subclasses. Pretty simple stuff. People will probably go online see what options are available. Probably thinking you choose it at the start or with some cool class-related quest. Then at 2:01 : Conquer the endgame. Nice, when I want, on my own terms I can do some challenging content that might differ from the main game, like in others games. |
|
" Mind you - the usual affair in f2p online games when it comes to subclasses is this: do some EXTREMELY boring long-ass fetch-kill-farm quest or bypass entirely with a cash shop purchase. Most online gaming veterans would be pleasantly surprised. If you just came back and started with the lab - yes, you will need some practice. Got a video of one of my first runs and I can tell you they go much, much smoother after taking a goodly number of characters through it. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

raics,
I don't see bad f2p models as a good FOR argument. As in 2017 some f2p are now amongst the top played games of all time, LoL, Dota2, TF2. Kinda rpg Warframe near top 10 on steam also. But it'S true it's not as bad with couples runs I give you that. Last edited by Slouper#5386 on Jan 25, 2017, 4:08:53 PM

lol...the devs take the time to give us an in depth look at the behind the scenes of the lab and make specific mention that each puzzle is built and tested to make sure they can be completed simply by running.
And people still complain. Crit Shockwave Totem 650k +: #1657327 / Crit VMS (1 mil DPS): #1511368 / Crit self-cast spark: #1565708
1.3 crit firestorm: #1280086 / 1.3 crit Ice Nova: #1219809 / Flame Nova (sire of shards incinerate): #1359847 |

" Right, my point is that class advancement is usually implemented in a boring and lazy manner, I can't actually think of a recent game that does it in a particularly interesting way. GGG at least tried to give us something memorable here and I don't think anyone can deny they've put in the uncommon amount of effort. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
