Labyrinth,the worst content ever made in POE?
" Since points are only 6, which means doing lab 3 times (maybe 4-5 if you die at merciless the first times), its ok. I dislike at all the idea of ascendancy classes: they are studied in the worst way, and they negate the principles of this game (i explained better this in another post), and the fact that the game will be always be rebalanced considering that everyone will take some ascendancy means that ascendancy classes would not be "optional" at all in the near future. But this is not really on topic, to be honest. The good idea is the "alternation" of corruption for gloves/boots/helm. This is a good addition, though the fact that you can do only 1 for every run(and TOTALLY RANDOM, you cant even choose the type of enchant: for ex. i am a caster, and the enchant i get 99% is something totally useless for my build, like mirror arrow bonus) makes the lab run very hateful and annoying. " Tell me,would you quit POE if they remove ac points from lab?I guess not,but there are many ppl who are allready done with game beacuse of lab and many who are bored with their chars and they dont want to reroll and go through lab and trials again(my current char is lv 96 in PHC,wanna rerol but i simply just dont wanna bother with trials and lab anymore). From begining of POE,was there any content which made players quit game or leauge until lab? |

It looks like this is a succesfull expansion, so i'm not so sure lab is scaring away players. And if you're good enough its just 30 minutes of gameplay to get ascendancies, less if you check reddit beforehand. What can i say, learn to run, hone your mouse skills and deal with it.

" This explains exactly how I felt after the first time I saw the labyrinth. I exited in disgust after 15 minutes of torture. I then decided to research what these ascendancy points were in the hopes that the labyrinth could be skipped. I decided it couldn't really be skipped and decided to try my best again. Unfortunately the disgust took over again and I had to leave after 15 minutes again. My thought was GGG made a game that I loved and had played almost every day for almost two years and now it was ruined. After further soul searching I no longer wish that the person in GGG that thought of putting traps in the game I used to love would be fired. The hate and disgust has been slowly replaced with a hope that it will be made truly optional one day and a resignation that if not I'll have to leave the game that I used to love behind. :-( P.S. To those people that want to say I find the labyrinth to be disgusting because it is too hard or my build is too pathetic, nope I didn't die in those first two runs, I hate it just because it is boring tedious not fun and destroyed a game that I used to love. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

" If its's not your cup of tea, it's just fine. But i even think that it's really not so unbearable. I mean, it's just some content that you can do once and then forget forever for a character that you play for hours. But it's fine to not like it at all even if it's not even hard for you :P For an Emperor to be just, an Emperor must be patient.

Besides the RNG garbage on the enchant part, the Lab is just boring and tedious. Walking, walking, backtracking over and over, traps that do %hp damage (running with no HP is actually easier than going tank, you can just run through traps while using pots and out-healing the damage), the same boss fight repeated three times (I guess making multiple bosses for an "expansion" was too demanding for the GGG dev team), it's almost as bad as the map system (though that one remains the shittiest part of PoE by far).

I think they did a pretty darn good job on the labyrinth, but then again i've only ran it 3 or 4 times on Merciless so maybe I haven't experienced the tediousness of it that people are mentioning. I haven't gotten any drops to write home about from there, but I actually kinda like the feeling of running through a maze, not knowing what the next zone will bring! Maybe they can add more rewarding side zones or something for more incentive to run the lab. I also LOVE the idea of being able to earn points or keys that will go towards enchants that are able to purchased instead of being randomized. And then making those points tradeable... hehe a new form of currency/item to farm! :) they could be called 'enchanting whetstones', like the cousin of Blacksmith's whetstones!! ^__^

" Its too long, after a couple rooms i just wanna do something else and leave game (not lab, but whole game). Havent loaded poe in 2 weeks, as long as the lab is in poe i wont be. Its an insult to poe. The fact it made it live made me lose confidence in this dev team. |
