Labyrinth,the worst content ever made in POE?
Love Perandus League and the Ascendancy idea.
Hate the fucking Lab. Detest, in general, when any game adds an expansion that is completely different from the core game I've been working to Git Gud at. When that ill-fitting change can ALSO rob significant time investment due to some uncontrollable internet disconnect? (Edit: and is pretty much compulsory.) There was even one person that likes the labyrinth that argued at one point that only 5 people on this forum that didn't like the labyrinth. " Thx, yeah I had voted. :) I should add, forced restart not just on random internet disconnects but an unreasonably difficult (imho) boss fight. Compare to the "other" unreasonably difficult boss fight: you can just skip Merciless Malachi and go straight to the best part of the game, mapping. (Thank the GGGods for that, no really thank you guys!) BUT I support that getting all 6 Ascendancy points is meant to be hard. So I dunno. It just feels like a huge distraction when I'm trying to hit 90 for the first time, but now have to go fuck around with some stupid death trap platformer shit that feels nothing like what I've spent 100s of hours preparing for. Sure one could just leave it alone. Or stop at 4 Ascendancy points, maybe that's the optimum solution. But that's not really very satisfying either. |

Traps are still there, and you still need to pay attention. Do you really think that is a bad thing? And why are we still talking death trap platformer? Haven't we been over this argument already, like 20 pages ago? :V This is aRPG, you are required to have reflexes and jump around the map - nothing new here. Add the fact traps aren't that hard, and most of us doesn't even know what you are talking about (I recently died to traps, because I underestimated the damage they deal, trying to rush straight through them - they sure do their job :P) Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. " My opinion is that it is a strange design decision to put such a significantly different game play as labyrinth into the middle of the main character development of a long time existing ARPG as PoE. There are of course going to be a significant percentage of people that are going to dislike it. (I admit that we benefit from from 20/20 hindsight here though.) In my opinion this is the bottom line and the basic problem with the whole concept. Yes Ascendancy Point are a great reward but gating them behind the boring tedious labyrinth? Just thought I'd pop in to say how much I motherfucking HATE the labyrinth.
When doing the challenge with an OP character to get the challenges this league, it is just a boring, pointless chore (and not in any way fun at all ... but you know it has to be challenging). However, when levelling a new character and you have to go through that shit, there are no other words to describe my feelings than HATE. It completely wrecks every fiber of fun in the game. I am so insanely angry at this part of the game that I can't express my feelings in any other way than in this highly non-constructive way. I am seething with frustration and anger over it. The sooner this part of the game is removed the better - or at least made skip-able. And preferably already in this season. And now for the polite part of this post: PLEASE, REMOVE THE LABYRINTH. PLEASE. or at least make it non-mandatory. |
