Labyrinth,the worst content ever made in POE?

Its really funny that white knights completely disregard one's opinion the moment they dont agree with it. Not only that but the lack of respect they show towards other people's feedback should tell a lot about their educational backround, but they simply dont care or they actually like to sound dumb and insulting.

Anyway remove the blindfolds, see things as they are, its really simple, some like it some not, both have the right to give their feedback, commenting on someone's feedback is purely idiotic (i guess you dont mind).

As ive said in the past the effort you make to change and insult people's opinions say a lot about your character and the actual controversy of the new content.

Yes the labyrinth is the worst content ever made (of course im stating MY opinion, it is simple if you have the brains to understand it). Im all in for GGG to experiment with new material and ideas but 1st)Labyrinth is not a new idea (its based on very old arcade games) 2nd)do no force players to do optional content 3) at least gate the rewards behind something less alienating.

I don't hate the Labyrinth that much, since it gives me a feeling of adventure when I take my time exploring it. It even reminds me of the good old Everquest 1 days, where I'm sitting with pen and paper in front of my screen, taking notes or drawing maps, to navigate faster in case I disconnect or die.

That said, I am playing PoE on a rather slow speed and fully clear all maps (including story content), and I don't play on Hardcore. I wouldn't even dream going into the labyrinth on a hardcore character.

My main points of complaint:

- You have to restart the entire lab if you die or portal out
- the traps do WAY to much damage, more so then any mob group you encounter
- Together with the above points: Ascendency points at the end

I guess you can't just give out the Ascendency Points for completing Chapter 4 on each difficulty, since you put a lot of effort into the entire Ascendency and concept.

But it is really long, and it takes me about an hour to initially explore the entire labyrinth. Longer if I die somewhere and have to repeat some steps (gets a lot faster once you been there).

With the entire difficulty and length, you can see all the complains in this Thread. Here are my proposed changes:

- Every player gets ONE instance per difficulty per day, if they decide to enter.
- This instance does not change. You are allowed to use portals and die. If you come back, your progression will be saved.
- nerf the damage from traps by at least 50% (or you gonna loose a lot of HC players in the long run)

In other words, you can complete every lab only once per difficulty per day. You can't farm it more often, even if you want better buffs on your gear. But it becomes a lot easier to complete.

Alternatively, if you can't technically implement the "one instance per day" thing because of server limitations, think of a way of stages. Once you complete one stage, you can't go back. That should reduce the needed memory quit a bit.

I wouldn't say worst, it is a different game mode but it feels like it was rushed. Also, it forces everyone to play like a hardcore character; if I wanted to play hardcore I would. I did for one league, got the t-shirt (armor set), but hardcore is too stressful for me and I wouldn't dream of playing hardcore currently with how bad optimization is.
As was mentioned several time: bad optimization, insane broken unbalanced trap/spikes/darts damage, global monsters and boss damage that just absolutely heavily over tuned by a lot, forced players to unlimited farm labs for decent enhancement where you have 0% to find your one required, server side problems, client crash/DC, again crazy monsters and boss damage (in general, not just inside lab) makes Labyrinth and PoE less interested and popular.

Basically there problem only help people leave the game forever.

I do agree with your point about players leaving but I don't think they're leaving forever. I and four friends of mine had a lot of fun with the previous patch and played a lot. But this patch none of us decided to continue playing. The content itself is not fun.
I have to agree with the thread starter. I really dislike the labyrinth mechanics and hate that my hardcore characters can die to these ridiculous traps. Also horrible to have to start over if you dced. Worst content I have ever seen added to PoE.

I like everything else about the league EXCEPT for those overtuned as heck Perandus mobs. Won't miss them after the league is over.

In reality its rediculously frustrating and boring content to have to run 10,000 times in order to get challenges/ enchantments that is also HEAVILY slanted towards life based (HP potion enabled) builds.
People have the right to complain, and if ur here to say they don't then you need to grow up.

I agree this is the worst most tedious annoying thing in the game. All the back tracking and retarded traps. I lost my character due to being bored out of my mind for 20 mins and getting annoyed with running around trying to find where I need to go in this stupid labyrinth. I didn't see the trap I was standing on and died !

I thought I was playing an arpg about killing mobs and getting phat lootz not puzzle simulator 2016

Nice day wasted leveling only to die to this bullshit.

Ok so I'm typing from my cell, sorry for typos.
Reading up on Labyrinth after doing it twice on normal with two different characters. Was over leveled. Was frustrating as I wasn't and still am not used to the trap avoidance planning.

So I'm not a Lab fanboy, but after reading through the forums and seeing the split. I guess I wanted to offer perspective on it.

I don't see a problem with GGG "gating" Ascendancy classes (AC) behimd this content. The Ac nodes are super freaking powerful and allow for immense build customization and augmenting certain builds with either defense or offense by specializing.

Rewind 2 months. There was no AC. You can still play that game if you don't like Lab. The Lab is optional content that I know you are dying to access the AC because face it, the nodes are sick. OP even. But you don't like the LAB and feel you shouldn't have to run it to gain access to these treats. You sound like Bernie Sanders supporters. You know what else is nice? Highways. But to use them you have to have a running vehicle. It's like the government "gated" highway access behind owning and maintaining a working vehicle. It's not really fair you say, well then learn to own and operate a vehicle and you can have access to the highway too.

If you don't like Lab, pretend it isn't there. I see level 90 players in hc who did not ascend yet. Then it's just like the game 2 months ago. Your game, the one you like isn't any different. Your problem really is that OTHER players are going to have something that you don't. And you want it. But you don't want to earn it by learning to run the gauntlet. No one said you have to. Just like you can ride the bus if you don't have a car.
You can still enjoy the game just as you always have, you just won't get access to these OP AC nodes. Big deal. The nodes are a REWARD for successfully completing the Lab. All that happens is you are jealous. Cause no one says you have to have them. You just want them, but you want them on your terms. And you will take your ball and go home if you can't have them. And if you can't have them, it's not fair thT other players get to right? Admit it, that's how you feel in a nutshell.

This is an OPTIONAL part of the game. The exact same game is still there without ever having to do lab. You just need to get over that people who like lab get a reward that is super powerful. But the monsters aren't any stronger...so technically you don't need it.

Having said all that. I find the lab scary and hard in hardcore. I have started to get used to the traps and trap avoidance. I might not ever do ther merciless version. And just be happy with 4 nodes or I might pay for it...but I have no problem if I don't get the last 2 nodes because I just might not be good enough and I accept that. You should as well.
Just my thoughts, feel free to argue back now. Also feel free to copy parts of your posts from other threads to make your point. I personally hope they don't change it that much or overly nerf it.
