Why was he doing it? I don't know. You'd have to ask him. But I'd imagine it's for similar reasons as you keep trying to convince people who don't like the labyrinth that they should like the labyrinth. You could, you know, just not do it. But here we are.


Change enhancement from lab to somewhere else where we can easy farm them and you will see less complains about lab.

Hello. This is my feedback post for the 2.2.x version of the labyrinth.

In my personal opinion the entirety of the labyrinth and the way it is designed results in a boring experience. Every time I do the labyrinth I wish it was not part of the game at all.

Firstly, the trap mechanic.
Traps are not an interesting gameplay element. They are not fun. They make me want to stop playing as soon as I run into them. Either you can completely ignore them if your build is life/regen based, or if you're playing energy shield then you're effectively forced to stop playing the game until it's safe to move again. It breaks the pace of the game so completely but there's no reason for it to exist in the first place. It's a gimmick mechanic that you don't use anywhere else in the game. There's plenty of reasons why I hope you guys never use the trap mechanic again.
And regardless of if you're ES or life based, in either situation it's boring and frustrating to deal with traps. And no I'm not suggesting that you make adjustments to traps so they become more lethal. The way traps function it seems their only purpose is to kill people right as their client randomly freezes, lags, stutters or otherwise performs outlandishly poorly because it seems completely pointless otherwise as it doesn't contribute to adding a sense of danger. If you made them deal more damage you'd be pushing up against the border where it functionally becomes a one shot kill mechanic in a game that has plenty of that type of damage already.

Regarding the labyrinth itself: I just completed two trials of ascension back to back on my Marauder about an hour ago. Or should I say I sat in my office chair feeling bored as I ignored the traps and did nothing but run through a massive network of dead ends for almost two hours for two separate lab runs. You know, since the layouts are completely different in each difficulty mode.
Not all that time was spent running around either mind you. What can I say other than apparently you guys didn't test what happens with spell totems during the Izaro fight because he consistently one shot my RF spell totems over and over and over. It almost felt like you guys just wanted to prevent totem builds from ascending considering how useless my totems were.

During both labyrinth runs tonight (Cruel and Merciless back to back) I found myself getting increasingly irritated as I was doing the hour-long marathon runs (it certainly felt like it took an hour or more), just me sitting there bored, ignoring everything else inside the labyrinth while trying to ascend asap. I was struck by a feeling that I wasn't actually playing the game, just running. I like doing maps, killing bosses. I don't like running around aimlessly.
Anything but just straight up running around in circles and fumbling around looking for levers. Path of Exile is not a game about pulling levers and walking through arbitrary obstacle courses. It almost feels like you guys are deliberately trying to waste our time instead of deliver entertainment. That is why I do not appreciate the gameplay in the labyrinth.

For the entirety of the Cruel and Merciless labyrinth runs I was staring at my minimap trying to find the way out. That's the entire labyrinth experience summed up for me. Run around a lot, ignore traps whenever possible. Backtrack a lot every time you run into a massive dead end and sit around waiting during long loading screens in between the 7 or so zones you split the labyrinth up into. The labyrinth makes me want to play an entirely different game instead.
Please consider scrapping it, do away with it completely. Anything!
After ascending three characters I have about zero interest left, I really don't want to ever do it again and that feeling quickly progressed to the point where I just don't feel like rolling any new characters at all.

Are you aware that each difficulty has different layouts?

Also don't waste your time replying to me. I'm not returning to this thread and I am not interested in anything you have to say. This is feedback for GGG, I'm not interested in discussing anything with anyone.

If the labyrinth had more fun puzzles and less mindless unavoidable death traps and dead ends then i think it would be infinitely better, even if just something like a really complex puzzle at the entrance of each new room that if you completed it all traps for that room would become disabled would be great even if temporarily.
Traps are mostly a joke with movement skills.
Well, traps will always be trap, not that it can become "intelligence" or something.
Eventually they will just become invisible to the player - just stare at your map and run through, oh you got hurt, pop a few flask, and keep running...

There are several things in there that people can farm, although the Intricate Chest seems to ONLY drop Lab specific unique (8 only?) as far as I know... so it's not really that much of a nice stuff anyway.

And with the recent technical difficulties, not sure if server crash of gateway crash... It's certainly become a bit of annoyance if we got DC'ed. Well, I got to 24 challenge done now with just about a week of playing in Perandus, I guess I call it a done for now and come back next time...
I agree this content is sick it shows the same lackluster junk from before dress it up and shine the turd but it is still just that.

LABYRINTH PLAY IS BORING. Every agonizing minute in the labyrinth is multiplied by 2 or 3 because LABYRINTH PLAY IS BORING.

I know it may be hard for some people to understand different people can have different interests, likes and dislikes. Some people like the labyrinth and other people feel that LABYRINTH PLAY IS BORING. So it is okay for you to like the labyrinth. You should be able to respect others even if they feel that LABYRINTH PLAY IS BORING.
