" Clarification: for those who have to purchase points for the first time, it's $5 USD minimum. Still, I agree with you. It's a lot of complaining and moaning over a small amount of money. People claim to make very little if they're from another country where the exchange rate is bad, but still, they have to pay somehow for the PC and Internet connection they're using to play, be it their own or at an Internet cafe. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

" Come on, you've been in this thread for quite a few pages. You know for most people the amount of money isn't a factor here, at all. And out of those who actually complain about the money, some have stated to have actually supported GGG with purchases, just not purchases of premium tabs. You can't just say "you do have a PC, so you're able to afford everything that's cheaper". That's just not how life works. Any of it. On the contrary, for some people this might be a significant expense, especially because they've spent money on a PC and internet bills. And the sad thing is that some people who've posted so far still try to support by purchasing stuff, they just apparently bought the "wrong" tabs and now have to let themselves be labeled as ungrateful entitled kids. I'm sure some of the people unhappy here haven't spent a dime on PoE and don't plan to. But equally you have people who tried to support despite limited finances who now wonder whether their support was "good enough". You have people who seem to have legitimate wiring problems due to region locks. There are people with more than enough premium tabs, who still think it's a bad idea. Some people criticize the presentation of 3rd party tools as valid alternative and brought up fair points for why the 3rd party landscape won't stay the way we're used to. All of that in this thread. We're 123 pages in and I still get to read a variation of "if you enjoy the game so much, you can at least pay $1.50" roughly once per page as if everyone with concerns was surely just a cheap bastard. |

This is pay to win.

First Wave of Trade Improvements
A very hot topic in the Path of Exile community is the upcoming improvements to trade. I'm happy to announce that the first wave of these improvements is complete. The first is removing the need to use third party tools to index your items by adding public stash tabs, and the second is adding support for third-party indexing websites to be able to find out if users are online reliably. We expect these to be deployed tomorrow alongside the updates to the third-party websites that we have been working with. Public Stash Tabs For quite some time now, users have relied on third party tools to create posts of their stash tabs in the Path of Exile trade forums. There were always a few problems with this approach, though. The first is that it wasn't that user-friendly. Downloading a third-party application that you need to give your login credentials to rightly sets off alarm bells for many people. A lot more users just didn't find out about these tools or were not willing to put in the effort to use them. The second is that it was really inefficient. The trade forums were never designed to be scraped by indexers, nor updated that frequently. As more and more users have been using that system we have been running into more and more scaling issues. In order to solve both of these problems we have introduced the concept of Public Stash Tabs. Any premium stash tab can now be set to public. Public tabs are available in a special API that is usable by third-party indexing websites to efficiently index all the items in near real time. News1 First, just set your stash tab to public. News2 Once a tab is public, when you right click on an item to add information about the item. This information will be put in the hover for the item, and in the API for third-party websites to index. News3 Using the drop-down box, you can set a price for the item. This uses the price description formats that are already supported by third-party websites so it will work from day one. News4 You can also set a price for the entire tab at once. Any prices set on individual items in the tab will override the per-tab price setting. I would like to mention that the use of the public stash tab system is entirely optional. We are not preventing the use of any of the old tools, and they will continue to work so long as the third-party websites continue to index the trade forums. Online APIs A common issue with the third-party trading websites right now is the lack of reliable data about which players are online. To address this, we have created a new API that allows third-party websites to be able to get this information. The third party websites you use to find items will be updated to use this API soon! This is the first of many trade improvements we plan to make. We would like to thank the community members that have put so much effort to making trade easier, and we hope to continue to support them with even more features as time goes on. since this was posted at march 1st i dont understand why we don't have anything yet since its 2 march today Last edited by owen70#3976 on Mar 2, 2016, 3:16:15 PM

" I'm pretty sure that Chris can't predict the future, saying that he should have stated 2 years ago the end state of an extensive development process, probably with many rethinks along the way, is absolutely ludicrous. .

I find it absolutely astonishing how many of you are marveling at the fact that trading in this game will STILL be light years behind any other trading system in any other game of any other genre.
"A polished turd is still a turd". ... Which sounds better to you? 1. Wow...we can go to websites to trade in a game and they will work better before. 2. Wow...this nice GUI in game is so easy and convenient, a cave man can use it! Good bye alt-tabbing!! Its like you people have set your expectations dirt low that you'll take anything GGG throws at you. |
