" Nothing wrong with gun collecting as long as they are registered and you have the proper training and respect the regulations of no-shooting areas and whatnot. and well, its your gun, you can do anything with it as long as its not illegal or stupidly dangerous. still makes me cringe though. regarding militias, which militias? (in US, not your country) Would like to know more considering what you seem to think of them. dunno the man enough to judge, but btw, scalia died a few days ago. Oblivious

" Honestly, gun control is one of those things that I'm not sure about what to feel, so I'll not comment further. I support people having them, but sometimes they go (fuck the PC people) full retard with that. About the militias, I have read about the Oath Keepers, and the Oregon Standoff. I can't comment a lot, but it seems that in US there are a lot of anarcho capistalists out there (think like the communists, but rather than 100% state they want 0% state...I think that a lot of government hate is justified, but being strictly anti government is just being reactionary) and all kind of crazies (religious nuts, paranoids and all that). There are people attacking abortion clinics too. For what I have read domestic terrorism is as dangerous as islamic terrorism in US. (fun fact: in my country, Argentina, there were anarchists and communists out there in the 20th century...the militias were left wing; right wing/fascist governments were mostly about the wealthy, militars and some people in the middle class using electoral fraud and coup d'etats to stay in power...that's the reason the institutions here are fucked up and corruption is rampant...right now there is not space for centrists because people only want populists after so much destruction) " It's really easy to find info about US. More easy than to find info about Argentina. I have a hard time doing that. I don't know what really happens here, but I have a lot of free time, Reddit and the NYTimes, so I read a lot about the developed countries. It's scary how influential is US for the amount of crazy going on there. " The Pope said he is tearing down the walls around the Vatican, so anyone can go live there? Cool, I wonder what kind of bandwidth they'll be offering to the Syrian refugees. PoE Origins - Piety's story http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2081910

^the pope lost most of my respect ever since he excused the attacks on charlie hebdo with an extremely bad comparison. where was his respect for human life back then?
Still agree with a lot of what he says but I cant pretend he's unbiased. I do think he has good intentions though. " I think education and discipline is very important, what country was it... not sure, but wasnt it Switzerland that has high gun ownership rate and very little gun crime in comparison due to compulsory army service? Either way america has too many guns in circulation to be fixed by this point. Gun-free zones seem like an extremely stupid idea when you can get a gun legally by next state. and illegally... well... For the oath keepers all I know is how they acted very well in the ferguson protests. The extreme left media completely ignored the fact that they were protecting small business owners and just wanted to spin them as racist because they were white and the ones destroying were african-american. The police was ineffective, the mayor set a part of town as "please destroy". the oath keepers seemed to be the only ones in the right here. Now the ones at oregon standout were idiots, as far as I remember, the ranchers didnt ask for support from the militias involved and the oathkeepers even commented that they wouldnt get involved since they were not asked to (they seem to intervene by request). Overall the oregon standout was pretty funny, what's with occupying a place nobody cared about. Sensationalist media comparing it to waco was also pretty stupid, not surprised it ended so easily. Not sure I would call them terrorists. They didnt even damage anything. They didnt set terror into the hearts of anyone there. Ferguson protesters did both and they were never called terrorists (because they werent, the word shouldnt be used easily) Now violent attacks on abortion clinics are another story. Depending on organization and intent they can be considered acts of terrorism. I dont know if its correct to say that about domestic terrorism, America definitely needs to look into their own problems, but ISIS is a real threat. wouldnt downplay them. and they are not the only radical islamic group that hates america (hell, pretty much all do) Oblivious

Meh, the Oath Keepers seem like idiots with guns. The way they follow conspiracy theories makes me remember the NSF in Deus Ex, :P
Thing is, idiots with guns are like gunpowder barrels waiting for a reason to explode (so the Waco comparisons). The conspiracy theory mindset they have means they expect the government to attack them first, but thanks god it's not going to happen soon, else it would have been a bloodbath. About the racism spin, from the info found, they have racist members for sure (I can't say how significant is that membership, though, the conspiracy theorist group has a lot of crossover with birthers and anti semites). But it's the conspiracy theory/zealotry part that makes them unnerving, not the racism. Gullible people do stupid shit. Look at this. Not sane. TL;DR: idiots shouldn't have guns. What's actually really sad is that the cable networks are only in for ratings and tickle the GOP canidates with questions such as "What's your favorite music" while the democrats get really tough questions.
Just compare the MSNBC and the CNN townhall. Anderson Cooper was a total joke and most questions were avoided by "trumping" MSNBC on the other side added some spice to the questions the visitors had. |

Anderson Cooper is a low energy guy :^)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

(Inside story - "What's fueling homegrown American extremism?", 25 mins) The development both in the U.S. and in Europe really makes me scared. I have never expected this when I went to school and learned about right wing extremism. The Vatican is extremely small(0.44 km2 = 0.17 sq mi; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican_City) and should be compared to a government district when it comes to security btw. Italy took a lot of refugees over the years and used to pay the biggest part for their marine operation "mare nostrum"(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mare_Nostrum). The catholic organization Caritas also helps worldwide(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caritas_International), one of the reasons why I´m still a member of the Catholic church and pay taxes for it, even though I´m an atheist and disagree in some points(obviously). " Look, US and Europe are places with low amounts of extremism, so you shouldn't be scared. Right wing extremists (well, more accurately fascists)? Islamic terrorism? They are insignificant even with the Paris attacks, 9/11 and mass shootings. Don't fall in the fear trap, because that always ends meaning less liberties and more pointless struggles (see PATRIOT Act, the Iraq war and more). That applies to things like the gun nuts in US too (with gun rights). Africa and Middle East have those kinds of attacks almost daily and no one gives a shit. The western bias in the news is stupid sometimes. As an argentinian, I do care as much about the west as I care about the rest of the world so it baffles me how the whole west is going (specially with the refugee crisis).
