One-month Flashback Events: Progress and Feedback

only 10 % of us got everything what ? and im done with challanges for days lol
I chisel/alch every tier 10+ map and cant sustain on these tiers. Usually got a bunch of tier 4 - 6 meh.
And after the last change to maps I NEVER EVER seen a map drop from bosses, usually killed with 46 iiq and 151 iir....
As a returning player, this flashback league has been sooo much fun! Thanks! Makes me hope that i'm not bored with the next league start because this was so amazing.

I'm 85, didn't map higher than map 74 because too dangerous with my dual totem crit version. In standard I have a very tanky dual totem non-crit and I realize that if you don't have armor you are dead meat.
The gearing process is so boring and doesn't enable flexibility. You need armor, that's it, which means your characters walks so slowly. Energy Shield is useless for physical damage mitigation.

Kinda remind me my ranger in standard evasion based, no armor = dead meat. You can't just dodge everything and always be 100% of time focus.
Death penalty is most frustrating feature. Can't never fill some kind of achievement in this game.

I have 20/20 challenges now and I don't feel any particular pleasure playing... Just trying to play corrupted tempest for the fun but it doesn't pop very often.

I will probably give a try to the next 1m race, but come on guys, you have to find a way to reward your players for the time invested. Why does it has to be so hard to be lvl100 ? Even without death penalty this will take a very long time to achieve for the 99% of the player. Or set a death penalty only from lvl99 (20% ?).

Same feelings here. Physical damage is out of control. Never again will I go for a non-armor build. Went hybrid life/ES this challenge league. I have 3600+ life, 3500+ ES, run arctic armor on the off-chance I won't be moving when hit, keep 4 endurance charges up, and have 5 Zombies out for distraction. Works great until any physical damage beyond spawn, leap slammer, ranged physical damage dealer decides to target me. I'm either one-shot dead with no time to react or hit-stunned and unable to move/escape and killed in 2 or 3 hits. Really? Over 7000 hit points, X% "less" physical damage from Arctic Armor if wasn't moving, and 4 endurance charges up... and dead in a second or less if hit by physical damage.

Improving my gear to get even more life and ES won't do anything either. Anything that one shots or stun kills me now will still be problematic and continue to kill me.

Hi there,

thanks for this Flashback league, I really enjoyed it in the beginning, and up until I completed the challenges a couple of days ago. It was nice to ask other players for help and make new friends, but it is also weird that I did not see any Warbands leaders myself (except when my friend portaled me in). I felt there was a bit too much spike damage in maps, but maybe that's just my build... ;) Maybe it's the flashback league, too, Beyond + Onslaught and Invasion are a bit crazy.

I wish the challenges would be less gated by level and higher tier content, but, on the other hand, I completed them quickly, too. Maybe it would be fun to include more challenges which make you go to specific zones? I don't know, but I can say "please, let's do this again!" :)

Best wishes,

The league has been very fun and interesting. The challenge of the otherworldly bosses are pretty fun when geared appropriately. Step into the wrong map level, however, and you are done for [well I was].

27k Armour and 4.5k life and one shot by something [missed its name].

Map wise, until today I was still not all that happy with the map drops. They were ok but it still seems a penalty to run them due to the lack of returns. Today, I lucked into two maps in a row that contained Cartographer boxes each of which provided 11+ maps. I ended up with over 30 maps from running just 3 maps. I used a lot of my low level maps for the chisel recipe so was happy to get a nice fresh pool and a few more chisels.

I have not got to the 75 / 76 level maps today yet. This is the area where I mainly focus on being able to sustain easily since this will allow me to craft items as I need them (at least to rare level thanks to the regal recipe. Going to try to increase my map pool at the 75 / 76 level today to see if things are better.
Interesting statistics. Been having a blast in this event.

My thoughts on map changes:
I personally am actually really fond of the change to +2 map drops. At first I didn't like the idea, but for normal progression a +2 map is a pretty significant change in difficulty and while im still leveling and gearing my character. im not going to be running those maps that much anyway. plus it makes a +2 map very special when you do get one. obviously if I over lvl in dried lake before I start mapping I would want to get through those early and easy map lvls, but that's what trading is for. personally I get bored with dried lake and will break up the grind to run some maps and these are easy enough to get +1 drops from and getting to lvl 4-5 is not really that hard. around the time I do that im lvl 75ish and am ready to start mapping only. the progression to getting into 6-10 map lvls was a little more stagnant and, as I expected, I had to run more maps to build a +1 map base. currently I have not gone much past this (lvl 85 still need some gear to complete my build) so I cant comment on sustaining anything higher than this. overall I think the progression was much smoother than it has been in the past and less variable. In previous leagues I have been able to progress what was probably a little too fast (ambush went from lvl 70-78 in 9 maps and I sustained lvl 77/78 the rest of the league. I know, very lucky)and I have definitely felt the wall in 73+ maps when you run 20+ maps and don't even get a +0.

Regarding the tier system. I really do like the tier system, I agree that monster level was really the wrong way to describe the difficulty of the area. the fact that the monster level is still displayed in the map kinda defeats the purpose of this though. I really wish this was removed and the only way to then calculate the xp penalty for the map you are running would be from ilvl of white mob drops. while ilvl does imply monster level, its less obvious that the monsters are level x, rather monsters drop ilvl x items. or some other system that would convey what lvl you are receiving a large xp penalty. I suppose that 'if you aren't getting enough xp per map try a higher tier' works too. my biggest grief is the monster level still being displayed.

Love the work you guys are doing, super hyped about having another crazy(er) 1m event.

Were you using the site that collects the warbands/tempest info? Makes it much easier to find them...

Ontopic very cool league, beyond overshadowed it a bit much (food for thought for future leagues). I was lucky with the divine shrine (found 2) so it may be a bit unfair to say but I felt the challenges were more or less of the right difficulty, maybe even dare I say it 'easy'.

you should be chisel/alc/chaos for good rolls for 10+. also your iiq/iir has nothing to do with map drops. map drops are totally dictated by the map's iiq
