I still think map drops are fine - boost drops and good players can do 79++ all day long
Right now there is exactly one (!) non-legacy lvl 75 map I can buy in standard. Did not try if I can actually buy it.

" Yea but its cheap right?
" Are the drops better in standard? As for being cheap, have not seen such a cheap map yet otherwise. Have not tried to buy it, not sure whether you can actually buy it at that price. 78 maps are 3 for an exalt or so, which I don't exactly consider cheap (for an exalt I could buy a gear upgrade for my character) and that is four levels from the max. >80 maps you cannot even buy. " 35 results for >80
" http://poe.trade/search/akinazakosahas Where? Currently 2 81s for 2.5 and 4 exalt. We had this discussion before. Does it mean that if there is stuff on the market, it is sustainable? It does not. How many players are online on standard right now? I have no idea. Two of them are selling 81 maps. Pretty small amount for something that should probably be not as rare as a Shavs, no? Edit: As a comparison, there are 82 Shavs I could buy right now. 41 times more than 81+ maps. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit. Last edited by Char1983 on Aug 8, 2015, 1:11:33 AM

" 77/78 = full chis, chaos to something that would get me 100%+ with sac.frag or has good inhabitation, vaal some of them, add sac. I cant afford to run Zana on this level.
Example
" " " " " " " " " " " _IN = 0x77, 8x78, 1x79 OUT = 6x77, 1x78, 1x79 I think I've run around 20x 78, 40x 77 and three 79 that I remember, Shipyard, Village Ruin, Arsenal... each one exactly once. Something like 3/4 of my mapping time was spent running 72 - 75 (levelled to 90 doing 74s, to 91 doing 75s) So, according to my experience in a fresh league (and not Std with fat tabs of 78s to start with), I'd change the title of this thread into: "an involved player that cashes out a huge amount of orbs, can play in 77-range all day" E: I have around 20x 77 in stash and two 78. But I'm already burned out and sick of PoE. In all other expansions, that brought a lot less content than 2.0, I was happily mapping for 300+hrs throughout the whole league. But I'm already bored of 2.0 and this new expensive pay-to-play and get rekt by RNG nonetheless, mapping experience. Daily update, a great day, spend 60+ chaos try to rebuild my 77 pool, end with 3 77 maps.
You might think im stupid, so do I. This time I re-roll my map follow this guide (which is not so different between my re-rolling method). When I was 94 I had like 20 77s, I did them all and built a 15+ 78s pool with couple 79s. Now I am lv 95 40% exp, I only have 2 79s, 4 78s and 3 77s left. So, I think is time to go back to 76s again but the result is heart breaking. Can't build up map pool and at the same time, wasting money. |

" Funny thing is, citing buying maps as some sort of vindication. Casually casual.

It's WAY too early to make any economic assessments about the new map drop system. Legacy maps in Standard (not to mention legacy pricing habits) are keeping maps affordable. For now, it is a good idea to buy maps - finding drops unsustainable (especially since I run these babies blue), I've been buying 76s recently. But inevitably more and more people will start to buy them instead of trying to sustain drops, so I maintain my prediction that prices - especially for 77-78 maps - will start to skyrocket eventually.
Now, it's possible GGG is closely managing the map economy and will increase map drops once legacies start to drain out of Standard, just in time to prevent price increases. We will see. And, finally, tinfoil hat time: I've had way worse luck with map drops from legacy maps than new ones ;) We're all in this leaky boat together, people.
