the curses are independent of the revenants , i can drop revenants today and the curses will still be around doing their shit.

stop using other mechanics to justify a targeted nerf of the revenants




Actually in a game that every character can use curses and every other support, skills gems that is avaiable in the game, it is relevant. Since every single character can use a mix of everything the whole game must be balanced thinking about all thoses possibilities. Specters don't need to be perfects by themself since there is a platona of supports gems, aura, buff, curses, passive nod, uniques items, etc... the possibilities are there and everything is relevant.

Remember shotgunning mechanics that were removed? they were not removed directly becauses of the skills but because of certains interractions beetwen supports gems and others capacity that you could add to it.

I don't see how this rule would apply in general, how does Discharge stand on its own, or Righteous Fire, for example? There are many interesting skills in the game that require support from other skills and items and keystones to reach reasonable potential.

Also, Raise Spectre is more comparable to an aura or herald than to a main attack skill, in the way it is used as part of preparation, not in combat. As such, it shouldn't be expected to do much in itself, just like auras.
Your "main damage" comes from actively buffing and debuffing in combat, those are the buttons you press, not Raise Spectre.

What's stopping people is that it's impossible to maintain dps on a standalone skill while committing the resources to get the powerful supportive tools that summoner has, and the casting time to trigger their effect.


what are you talking about , those two are crap skills. outside from the 1 or 2 builds that do make them good (admittedly over the top good) would you ever consider using them for something else? no
so you pick other skills.

i can make a wonderful coc discharge build, i can make a wonderful rf build (i have)
i can make a better ice crit build with something else

i can make a better dot build with something else too.

GGG received feedback from the beta about Revenants being too strong and 1 shotting in high maps, but they didn't care. They didn't take any suggestion from the beta because the beta was there so they could sell invites.

They could easily just nerf the damage, but leave the amount of projectiles the same since you can't shotgun anymore, but nah, they get a hard on the bigger they nerf stuff. Or they could make revenants not spawn on high maps so summoners can still do well... nahhh nerf is better for GGG.

Now you're changing the subject from mechanics to an issue of numbers balance. If Raise Spectre is not strong enough even with multicurses and EE and auras and offerings, I might pick other skills. But I don't expect Raise Spectre to be good without at least some of this support, since Raise Spectre allows me to have all of my casting time and many of my passive points available to commit to this support.

I started to play as summoner and loved the spectres. Using the flame sentinels was not compensated due to the area level.

I really hope that GGG regards this nerf on revenant spectre =/

My revenants are absolute raping again. This is what i done to change it.

All + minion damage nodes from the tree
Swapped Lightning Resistance from 5 link for Lesser Multiple Projectiles
Q20 gems on a 5 link spectre - chain, minion damage, spell echo and LMP
Swapped in a Midnight Bargain for an extra spectre
Swapped in conductivity as curse.

Map clear speed is awesome and i do not feel nerfed.

I got the same setting but I get pierce instead of chain and it's awesome still really strong
