Post patch feedback and suggesition : Remove malachai from HC servers. or from game.
" Why not exactly? Because a HC player would have to reroll? Besides, it's not a guaranteed one shot. |

I'd rather have all map bosses turned into Malachai, than him removed from the game.
Why is nobody complaining about the presence of punchbags bosses like Belcer and Stranglecharm? It boggles my mind. Another quality ZAP! post.

Ok, just killed him yesterday on normal for the first time on warbands (so after the nerf).
I am trying to make this build and test it to see if it will work on HC. I dont have very good PC so have very low FPS in few boss fights. Because of that (and I dont want to buy the kills) I am trying to make a build that will face tank all the bosses in normal and hopefully cruel. When I did malachai I was level 40. Had 1700 HP, around 900 armor and evasion, 30% block. Cap resist. Was using fortify and cleave (900 dps) and Double Strike (around 1100 dps). Have arctic armor on. Did not use endurance cry, or any curses. Did not have instant flask, and used only health and mana flasks. I did not use any TP during the fight, or moved away from the boss (except when I need to attack the hearts) or away from any of his attacks (because even if I wanted 5 fps makes it hard to do) and did not die. First stage of the boss for me was harder than the second one. The only thing I do is hold right mouse button on the boss (for any boss on normal), and dont move away from anything. His first stage ground slam did around 1500 dmg and that was the biggest dmg he did to me (can he crit with that attack?). The second stage, because I was always next to him, he never teleported to do that big explosion, not even when I attacked his hearts (does he teleport in that phase? Maybe he doesnt, dont know). Posting this not to brag (what is there to brag about? killed him on normal soft core.. duhh), but just to give more info on the topic, as it may be interesting. Now I am making this tank character to try and survive all this dmg so a lot of builds would not be able to do the same thing and face tank him. I dont know how it will be on cruel, is he a lot harder? Do people think I will be able to face tank him again, but this time I will be using curses and enduring cry on cruel? Will probably have around 3k heath when I fight him. Trying to go full block + heath + armor/evasion and later add Stone of Lazhwar for spell block (but that will not be possible before maps). But I guess soon I will find out, thats why I started playing in warband league. Last edited by Ragnar119#4963 on Jul 15, 2015, 4:47:20 AM

"Calling GGG to remove Malachai is a little bit too dramatic. Unless you'd ask them to remove any post Kaom/Daresso content, because it still seems rushed and unbalanced. And speaking of balance, Act 4 sends you a lot of conflicting messages. Kaom in Normal is fairly easy. In Cruel he's just another Hillock you can faceroll. Daresso's Dream is a bit more challenging, but the minibosses also become possible faceroll targets once you get there in Cruel. And then Daresso, the whirling swords he spawns deal more damage than Daresso himself. And then you reach Piety and you're about to get your ass whooped. This is how the difficulty curve looks to me based on content to a certain boss (e.g. A4N Malachai means content from the last point - Daresso to Malachai): That's not how an arpg should scale the difficulty throughout the content. Hmm, did I somehow erased my own post?..
"It is because parties are made by: 1)people who like to play in party and 2)people who need it because of difficulty curve. So as a1c is way easier than a3n (now a4n) there will be almost no parties made by the latter in a1c. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much. Last edited by silumit#4080 on Jul 15, 2015, 5:38:53 AM

I do not agree, Malachai must not be removed by the game in HC, it is the final boss.
However, I find that in normal and in cruel he remains far too powerful. Has Challenge and challenge there, not to confuse. It is also necessary to know that there is/are not only the build flame totem which exists. Malachai is 57 in cruel, zones all around are 56, to gain it lvl it is not easy needs to farmer, needs to have a good equipment, to know how to make him etc. But even by being 67, my friend being 68, we drooled dry there. I am a witch gone up in tank with step far from 5k of dps on arc, and 5k5 on freezing pulse, 200 life regen without my totem, molten shield and a chaos golem and 3000hp. Bah it was not the enjoyment. My friend had less evil, a little less, by being a witch summoner. Even by being 75, we can be killed easily by Malachai. We crossed him, it is cool, we are merciless, but yes now it is stroll in the various act. The difference of difficulty between Malachai and the other bosses merciless is not normal. The challenge we look for it by playing in HC, but even I, I found that it was really too hard, I ask for no blatant reduction in its damages, simply to consider that a zone so restricted, by avoiding its aoe, circles, we stop not finding itself always at the middle-life. Malachai in normal and in cruel is supposed to be the passage towards the difficulty above. Either it is necessary to go up the lvl of certain zones to allow to go up it lvl, or it is necessary to see again something. GGG want a badass boss, they have it, I have never seen a so strong, complicated boss that he, even in the numerous games as I made. Others in quoted are also soft as kittens! x) |

" ... and use portals, which means: to beat Malachai (and other bosses), you need to use the advantage you have over them. Do I have to say this advantage is ridiculously overpowered? |
|
Why dont you just go in SC with one of ur lvled toons and learn the fight? Im 100% sure thats what leaders in HC ladder did. it's just mechanics like everyone has told you like atziri. once you learn you'll be all that wasnt so hard.

" The bosses have an advantage on us, their life, I would want too to have so much of hp that Piety :(, so much use the only advantage that we have on them, even if needs to ask itself the question, if people are obliged to use portal, has no problem in the matrix there? I don't tried to put myself nakedly in front of Malachai to perturb him and kill him behind... Who knows? Because of a misunderstanding that could work xD |

I kept dying on him at least once (any difficulty), until I lowered the graphical settings to a bare minimum. Now I have a whooping ~25 FPS at the last portion of his second fight (from when you have to kill the last heart onward) and manage to do him without "random" deaths due to fps lagging.
I dont understand why there must be so much graphical shit goin on? Hearts bleeding animations, blood geysers spamming, ground effects with billions of particles... Performance is severely worse than Dominus fight ever was for me. E: I like the fight dynamics, but the damage was (is still?) way overtuned in Normal. Now fix also the performance and GG.
