Anyone else looking forward to seeing AXN's new pieces?
The chance to Vaal +1% maximum resists on an amulet is less than 1/300.

lying to their face.

Exact quote please?
Where was it stated that there will never be any better items / higher tiers of mods? If you gonna call someone out as a liar you should be very careful to have something that holds up.

Nowdays standard is just about legacy items and a few mirrored items. More options is better, at least for a player like me.
new mods are fine, higher tiers are not.

(and I say that although I am not even close to top end of gear)

On new top tier mods

Given that people have spent so long crafting items, it might be worthwhile to insert the new mod tiers into the middle of the current mod pool and bump the existing higher tiers up in their effectiveness. In this way the people that have spent tons of currency crafting "the perfect gear" won't have so much time an effort "wasted." Because let's face it--really getting all perfect things is incredibly difficult. Here's an example of what I mean:

Current physical top-tier rolls (high to low):
Tyrannical > Cruel > Bloodthirsty

With your proposed new mods (high to low):
New top tier mod > Tyrannical > Cruel > Bloodthirsty

My proposition (high to low):
Tyrannical (stronger than previously) > Cruel (stronger than previously) > New top tier mod as strong as old Cruel mod > Bloodthirsty

This, of course, would have to happen for all the new top tier mods added. But with my suggestion the gear that people spent ages crafting wouldn't become obsolete, and if you insert the new mod lower down in tiers (putting it after cruel instead of after tyrannical or after bloodthirsty even), the less it will affect old gear. The nice thing is that this shouldn't have any affect on new leagues, since the same amount of mods will exist, the top ones would just be named differently.

I can see an issue with item level, as perhaps items which aren't high enough item level could have mods they shouldn't otherwise have. I think this is a small sacrifice in order to make the effort people put into old gear worthwhile.

I'm not entirely certain the intent behind new top tier mods "obsoleting" old items, which is just straight power creep, something which I thought was against design philosophy. I certainly understand if there's a desire to make rares more competitive with uniques, but there are ways to implement this change without destroying all the old items people have lovingly crafted.

On new spell mods

I think that this is a great change, and one that I really like. However, I'm concerned that the mod pools will just be too large for daggers, wands, scepters, and staves. The reason is that people use these weapons for spellcasting and attacks. This makes their mod pool huge (relative to other items) and makes it harder to find the type of weapon you actually want. It might be worth taking out some other mods for these weapons so that it's a little bit easier for people to find the right type of weapon.

Specifically this targets anybody wanting to use these weapons for attacks, since only new spell mods are being added. I could see this being problematic, and it might be worth considering taking out some mods from these weapons' mod pools to accommodate this change. (But, perhaps not.)

I didn't read your entire wall of text, but one flaw I already see in your suggestion is bumping up the existing tiers. Doing that will just make it easy for the people that own mirror items to throw a few divine at it to increase its current numbers then charge when more for mirror services. Leaving the people who already paid hundreds of exalts for s mirror with a worthless "legacy" item.

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
I guess if you are going to devalue mirrored items might as well make Shav and Kaoms retroactive non legacy by adding new Shavronne and Kaom's with twice the HP and ES as legacy ones.
clear speed wont change, they didnt say they are increasing monster life / etc, your performance wont be altered by new t1 gear (unless of course you take into consideration new 79/80/81 maps which will obv have higher hp / dmg monsters, providing more xp).
Its not like old t1 wpns will become useless.

And to people comparing this to D3, please, when the new patch hit gear that used to be worth $250 @ the RMAH became worthless, this is nothing compared to that.
Yea,awesome, love to see you guys are making big progress :)
First you increased monster damage and now you are adding higher item mods to increase player damage. That is a horrible idea! Stop the power creep and rebalance the game around lower damage values to make it more challenging, but less arbitrary.

The game already feels too arbitrary, unforgiving and stressful at times. Most enemies pose no threat to your character, but a few nasty enemies or situations are very dangerous. Depending on your character e.g. whipping miscreation with extra damage and speed, devourers, corrupting blood, damage reflect etc. This leads to playing on autopilot for most of the time, until you encounter a dangerous situation and have to wake up to react in what feels like a split second decision. I fear the overall damage increase will make the situation even worse.

I think the game would be more enjoyable if the overall difficulty / threat level would be higher, but the game would be more forgiving at the same time. Characters should die as a result of bad player decisions and not as a result of bad luck. It is fine for a character to die because the player decides to blindly charge into a room full of enemies, but it is really bad game design when a character dies, because a pack of blue / yellow devourers popped up right next to him and one-shot him. Sure, there is a short delay before they attack, so you can try to kill them first, run, logout, but it is still bad game design. Keep in mind this is an online game with desync and lag.

Challenging content is great, because you have to use tactics, potions, decoys, etc, and be alert instead of mindlessly grinding through it on autopilot, but arbitrary killing characters with one-shot mechanics is just bad. It is not even a challenge, because the player has little to no chance to react.

Not really despite I have all the currency I could possibly want ( despite I don't play standard ) what's stopping them from making another tier AFTER the next batch? Sure it's stronger but continues to be a waste seeing how mirror worthy gear right now is overkill and will continue to be overkill beyond the measures.

There's much greater people then I am for sure such as Jake etc and such but even they will likely know ''what the fuck is the point of buying another'' It's basically buying a new version of a phone which many people do including my entire family and being even forced to to get one ''FAMILY STANDARDS!'' Anyway that's offtopic but you get the point.

Thank god I don't don't fully play standard anymore because I'd be really mad I don't blame the core people who play standard as the normal game to them; Sure I make fun of them all the time but if it's fun to you by all means continue to play it. It's basically GGG's way of ''NEW AGE'' for a little bit then well release another ^_^ completely nullifying their ''I'm done'' satisfied of purchasing the item in the first place of the ''Joy''

I find it stupid personally but like I said I don't play standard but I do have some form of sympathy to the standard players ( Despite my name is Apathy )

In addition Chris...just basically just lied to us I mean he DID say they don't wanna de-value the items but obviously this WILL devalue it which I find insulting like if you're not going to do it don't fucking do it; Don't go oh... we're changing our mind but don't state it first.
