The Awakening Item Page and Top-Tier Supporter Beta Access

How does a streamers build being nerfed have any relevance to how closed beta players have an advantage? Please explain.

The answer to this would be self-evident to many experienced PoE players.

Beta Player X relies on over powered Fortify and goes for a lot less life on his beta build. Player X cruises through the content, using more passive points and gear to boost DPS rather than life.

Player X has advantage no?

Act IV is released. Player X is in HC league and follows his proven winning strategy.

But, fortify has been nerfed hard. Player X unexpectedly dies in Nightmare act IV because he doesn't have enough defense or life.

GAME OVER.

Player Y - who has just arrived from another dimension, also plays hardcore challenge league, but reads forums, and moves carefully and stays alive.

Player Y sets off fireworks!

I approve of this pay to play beta.

The grandmaster pack was garbage and I only now not regret buying it.

You can't pay to get into the beta.

Also, you should know by now they are supporter packs because you want to support the game, if you regret supporting the game you must be confused about whether or not it's the game for you.

Which mmo had this buyin beta?

Most recently that I played, Archeage. Competitive pvp with a payed entry to beta/alpha. People were mad it cost so much, bet I never once heard someone say entry itself was p2w. Now other things that game did got pretty damn p2w lol. But I never heard alpha/beta payed access called p2w. That doesn't mean no1 ever said, maybe someone did. But it wasn't near the level of complaining seen here. Pretty much any kickstarter mmo sells beta access, I've yet to see that called p2w.

Maybe there would be less complaining if ggg didn't lie and hype up everyone about the new act coming in april just to announce a buyin closed beta in april.

GGG neither confirmed nor refuted that they were considering giving supporters beta access as you can see at thread #1244645 so no lies were told, sir.

I see.

Could you kindly go buy yourself into the beta, or show me where that is an option?

Also, source on the expansion being released in april, not information about the expansion being released in april?

Uh oh I crushed someones feelings who unknowingly bought himself in :'( Also asked chris how could I get in, and he said I have 2 options.. 1: make 500 new accs preferably with 11211 in their names. 2: sending him 1k$

What, he has a valid point. From what I know they said info was coming in april, tho honestly I heard that second hand before info was released. And yea the beta is not buyin. Not one person buying a supporter pack knew it would grant them access to this beta. And there is not a way to buy in right now. Tho I honestly really expect keys to be part of supporter packs next week(although after all this bitching maybe ggg will reconsider).

I unknowingly preemptively bought into the beta, also I don't regret supporting them. I could have gotten more microtransaction coins for the same amount of money, that's what I regretted.

I regret it and there's nothing you can do to stop me

You're still missing the point.. Player 2 in my scenario has NO foreknowledge of the game whatsoever.

OK - proceeding from that point. So, GGG has put an NDA on the beta? Player 2 is prohibited from watching streamers or reading the forum?

HOW - is player 2 kept from gaining foreknowledge of the game? IRL.

If this is your initial condition, then your scenario has a false premise.

It's like saying Player 2 can travel faster than the speed of light, so therefore the limit of light speed is invalid.

Player 2 could accidentally not have any foreknowledge, but then again, player 1 could accidentally never make it past Act 3 in the beta.

Please set reasonable proof that player 2 cannot have foreknowledge. (INB4 Player 2 is locked in Antarctic prison with no internet access until Awakening is released.)

Protip: It can't be done.

You know you don't have to download the client and test it right?

That has nothing to do with / or involvement of Pay 2 Win or donation/supporter amount. It's irrelevant.

It has everything to do with it, as it negates what you stated made the beta policy P2W. You said "this is p2 W because reason J" Responder said "Reason J is not true because..."
