I think the new skill sounds pretty good. Chaos damage is not something I built around so I hope it's still useful compared to Enduring Cry.
I use Enduring Cry, Molten Strike, and Blood Rage. Let me give some input based on my experience. I don't use them with triggers because I don't have the skill slots. Between the three of these gems there is a lot of maintenance buffing in my gameplay. The constant maintenance buffing is tiresome. Obviously I have a lot of fun playing and the skills are very useful, but they are certainly tedious at times. Luckily Blood Rage duration extends automatically which cuts the tedium by 1/3. I have tried Increased Duration but there just aren't enough sockets possible. I had an idea for a new basetype that would be an Unset Amulet - however it would also have "+1 to socketed gem" I will rip the eyes from your head with glee

Whoever it is that is thinking about getting rid of cwdt or converting warcries so they are not spells obviously doesn't remember (or wasn't around for) how seriously fucking lame it was to have to manually cast buffs every 10-15 seconds. Now if you are thinking of stealing another page from the D2 playbook and giving warcries an incremental duration increase based on gem level that would probably be acceptable.
Otherwise this game is going to become unbalanced in favor of non-melee characters. After that maybe you can call it "Path of Pigeon Hole". It's already getting close to that as it is. Get off the D3 path. Nerfs make people quit. In an f2p less people means your business suffers. +Get a better business mind\model. And or tell your developers to take a business class. Developing a game based on something you know is going to piss people off and or make them quit is DUMB. To the point of being idiotic. Saved

I don't have any problems EC losing the spell tag. It gives melees an edge above ranged with the endurance charge on enemy stun which can be very easily abused through recoking and whatever the other two reaction skills were called.
It also hurts my heart to see people who did a lot of contributions to the game being so openly distrustful of the devs. They're showing a work in progress, something that is in no means final, on top of telling about their concerns. Why the hell do you have to hate on them when even they aren't sure if they'll implement it in the first place? Dem metal chickens

" Trigger and ECMS are not a good combo. You only get 1 charge per attack, you have to be attacked first, and there is a cooldown. Also you have to do enough damage for the attack to stun so you need to buff the damage output of the gem at higher levels. This might be useful for refreshing but not for generation. Also you would loose at least 2 gem slots and probably more at higher levels for the stun to go off. And about the contributors (the main supporters of the game) being distrustful. The developers should take it as a warning that they are going in the wrong direction. The game has been unbalanced for quite some time with no real progress shown towards addressing those issues. Instead we have gotten PVP, Trigger gems (which most builds replace by merc). And now they are shown to be spending thier time on warcrys which mimic existing curses, reducing QoL changes to EC and IC they made in the past to give melee a boost. These last couple of changes would not be bad in and of itself, if there was visibility that they are also addressing the balance issues. We need fixes not more gimmick skills no one uses. We need them to post that they know that there are issues, examples of what they think the main issues are so that we can see we are all on the same page. Then they need to comment on how they plan to address these issues. They talked about increased communication but we haven't seen that. We only see the fluff and nothing of substance for quite some time. It would be nice to know they are focusing their time on what the player base feels is most important and changes are in the works. Cwdt+ec+ic setup is a no-brainer for any build, and thus provides no choice. It's a fucking terrible thing when it's pretty much a REQUIRED 3/4L Learn to play without it. Or you can still automate ic, self cast ec. oh boo fucking hoo "the game is slow". Laughable stuff. It's a tradeoff. You want reliable charges? Spend 0.25 secs casting the war cry. This change will bring choices into the game. You shouldn't be getting EC AND IC for free. The nerf cry is hilarious really. Here is GGG avoiding straight up nerf and taking care of existing problem by introducing a new group of gems and people are still unhappy. " Whats amazing, that Supporters against this update, regular user - agree with changes. But regular users didn't support PoE as Exalted/Diving/etc supporters. I've payed in this game less than 40$, and i one of the thousand users. Imagine how much payed another people (300/400 and more dollars). If in this game will stay only regular like you and me (i'm againts this update), GGG will need to search alternative $_$. " WOW so your saying that it reQuires a 3/4L anyway but then to make it where its not cwdt, but to actually press them. that will add 2 skill slots and still use atleast 3Link because of increased duration, so ya i would rather it just be cwdt then have to waste 2 skill slots and the links anyway. you must not play incinerate or melee builds when your getting swarmed or attacking a group of monsters taking the time to stop attacking and then self cast enduring cry to get ur charges up then to hit immortal call and trying to hit potions to save yourself, because your not hitting to get the life leech or lifegain on hit for your life is really great thinking edit. So most builds even with cwdt ec ic id. still needs all there buttons for other skills that they need even a simple build left mouse button to move middle for auras since you can switch it out when casting and switching to leave a vaal aura like vaal haste right mouse button arctic armor then you got 5 keys to use 1 main skill 2 curse 3 lightning warp or moving skill 4 blood rage 5 vaal discipline. now i gotta make room to go back and cast ic and ec waste of keys and it restricts players back to going to builds were it focuses on 1 skill or just limits them in general, but the only thing is true we still don't know the full plan of GGG.
