Pls don't legacy Acuity. It should be in nerfed state FOREVER.

It's not a numerical change, it's a mod change.

It has all to do how the mod was initially introduced in the game, if in the backend it didn't have the possibility to alter the effectiveness of the leech, but just reduce it's duration to instant then yes, they had to introduce a new mod.

Which is what i feel like is being done, the existing mod doesn't support the effectiveness factor, therefore it is being replaced by one that does.

Another way to create legacy items (at least for Uniques) is if we add or remove entire mods from the item.

Aaron Ciccheli, a guy who made millions running Diablo and PoE RMT sites, owns a significant portion of GGG. How's that for a conflict of interest? 7.5% of your supporter pack money goes to this guy.
Yeah but they didn't add a new mod, they changed the existing one.

My wording was off there, the source code of the mod was changed.

So, now Chris introduces new criteria - if GGG changes code, its a new mechanic! But we dont care about how code works - we judge basing on ABSOLUTE criteria, which is written on item's tooltip. Rhys's post doesnt cover any part on code changes.

But lets face it - GGG just dont want old Acuities to be in the game and dont care much on the other legacy or double-legacy (sic!)items. And we just have to accept it no matter what was said before.

Double standards as they are.

It's not rocket science, really.
How do you not grasp the concept of this?

The old version of the mod had no effectiveness factor, they changed the code to include it and thus it results in change for all items.
You can't do this for things like BoR block, because block is a mod that exists throughout the game and you only draw the numerical value from the table.

If acuties had to draw their effectiveness factor from the database table, they would have went legacy, however it does not currently but my guess it will from 1.3.

Meaning any further changes to their effectiveness from 1.3 onwards would result in legacy unless the effectiveness factor is hardcoded.

Oh my god. I have to post in this thread because he gave me so much to laugh about. Thank you.

@Mokuar: Please give me a link to your video. I need something to share with my fellow guild members, so we all have something to laugh about. Pretty please!!

@Topic: Changing the Code of an existing Item Modifier (aka Item Mod) is not the same as removing or adding a new Mod. So, no legacy.

Changing the Code from something that translates to: Life Leech applies instantly (100% of the Time (this is for you mokuar...)) to: Life Leech applies instantly (still 100% of the time mokuar) at 60% Effectiveness (here is the NEW 60% part mokuar. New, as in, there wasn't a numerical value before that could be changed), is not a numerical change. So, no legacy.

As if it was needed to say 100% before. The true story it's they didn't want to make it legacy that's all.

You can assume all you want, that there was a "hidden" "at 100% Effectiveness" in the Code before.
But without any proof, you just sound like a salty puppy.
