[1.2] KuteKitteh’s Tanky Arcer, 20k+ Effective DPS, Atziri/HC-viable. Poor-man’s BM Arc included
" To sustain arctic armour you need around 180 regen which I figure is one requirement to have. I have 223 regen without my CoD chest that I am trying to 6link atm. 2 rings around 45regen plus clarity with the chest my regen goes to 260 with current setup. I played with 700reserved and while its doable I choose to running with ash of ice vs Haste as it allows me a much safer option vs the dps I loose. why is arctic armor a dex based skill? I have huge problems with the dex requirements. I took the 2 big 30 dex notes on the way, but endgame I need to compensate with gear? you only get around 80 dex from the tree

I hear what you're saying, I'm also having problems with dex.

Gear set:
Spoiler
Came back to the game a couple weeks ago(from a year+ long hiatus) and was playing my ranger for a bit, but I saw this build and figured I'd try it cause I was sick of dying. Sold some of my ranger's more valuable items and previous currency and got some nifty items like the Catalyst and a +1 Curses Lazhwar (I couldn't stand Windscream's low movement speed). The build does well and I'm still quite a ways from being finished. Tried Atziri once(first time ever, with a ranger friend), had issues dealing with the chaos damage from the blood pools in the second fight against the trio - my chaos resist still sucks. Any suggestions/tips on Atziri or gear upgrades would be helpful. :)
Ended up finding this thing - a Voll's Protector:

Do you think it would be worth it to get a Romira's Banquet and a Rainbowstride, then switch to Discharge as my main damage skill? Or should I just sell it and spend the rest of the 3 month league rubbing exalts all over my face in my hideout? :)
How much spell power do I need before haste becomes better and vice versa.
And is points in crit wasted?
" need to compensate if you run Haste skill I choose to use cold ash as it saves me some dex. normally leveling a forsaken master should then cover the dex add on gear needs. |

"If you have rathpith, no. If you don't, it's decent. "More importantly, can you sustain level 20 AA? You need 230/s to sustain level 20 AA, and the difference from then on is for better MoM recovery. I would say that 250/s is a decent amount. Use mana flasks too. "I honestly don't know why it's dex. You only need 95 dex for the end-game variant, and the tree gives +80 for 94. You can either get dex from gear or just run a level 19 AA. Not that hard to get 1 dex from any one piece of gear though. "If I got that, I'd make a discharge build and nuke everything. "Haste is always good to have. And crit is wasted, yes. Which gems should i convert from LVL 20 to LVL 1 Q20 ?
Currently I don't have the currency to buy 20 GCP for every gem. These ones look pretty obvious:
Spoiler
Curse on hit (lvl 10 Q20 = lvl 20) Elemental weakness (lvl 12 Q20 = lvl 20) Reduced Duration (lvl 10 Q20 = lvl 20) Lightning Penetration (lvl 10 Q20 = lvl 20) Faster Casting (lvl 10 Q20 = lvl 20) Spell echo I am unsure about these:

The build works, respecced into this few days ago, been going solid so far except for one case where i had a nasty dual weavers at Jungle Valley map with volatile rares,i did die 3 times on that occasion.
But considering that my arc is still low lvl and not max quality (lvl19q7 or sth) and the rest of the suggested gems that i chose to use are not maxed out either, for what it's worth right now it's going smooth. The OP tho did inject a bit too much trust into this build,it's not exactly indestructible, yes at lower level maps (before 72++) almost every possible variation you can roll will be doable half asleep, but after that it can get nasty, you will have mobs and bosses that do so much physical damage that you have to either run or stand still, nuke, and pray that the sucker doesn't get through your block more than once per 2 swings. Also caution for others: Don't think you can just pick one sort of gear with your generic flasks and roll with it,the build is amazing because it supports different gear sets for different situations without gimping you to the ground. So if you want to roll all there is at high-end levels get used to the idea that you might need few extra leveled gems and specific flasks. Another problem for me - the build is deceiving, sometimes when i rush a 75+ map i forget that its not 66 and end up almost dieing because for some reason i feel that it's a good idea to jump in middle of 100s of mobs :D All of the above is good tho,it's not a complicated build,so it's decent for a beginner, but for someone who knows his way around there are quite few things that can be tinkered with and adjusted for one's own needs. Total currency spent on the build: Around 15/20 exalts, was it worth it? 100% yes,it's a very viable top tier end game build that has a lot of places to move around. No rest for the wicked.
