Cheap, Tanky, DPSy: Summon Raging Spirit [not updated for 1.3+]
If I'm going to play this in hc what's the best way to take the damage nodes?
Is it better to prioritize the skill duration or the minion damage nodes if I wanted to just get all the life nodes first? I have a 5L staff and am planning on rolling +1all +1fire or +2 fire and using the recommended 5L. |

Is it possible for you to break down the skill tree by level, so i know which points to take while leveling.

Finally finished my gear yesterday, was awesome to finally try this build. Even though my spirits were only at lvl 16 (with +4, so basically lvl 20), they still kicked ass :). And thanks to all the precise calculations you guys made, i was able to find the right kind of gear. Only missing about 6% lightning res, and 2% fire res to max all resists, and able to play with only one +30 dex node. This is what i put together:
The crafting was a huge help, especially getting 40% extra mana regen on the staff. My total stats are now: Life: 3719 (3198 after clarity reserve) ES: 3906 (with discipline) Mana: 1466 Res: fire 74% cold 75% lightning 69% cast speed base: 25% Felt pretty solid, and will have more life once i can find/pay for a chest with life and high es both. ONE QUESTION: how do you guys deal with bosses that have undying minions, like jungle valley map, or new graveyard (lvl 70) boss with animated weapons? I am not getting my spirits past those minions, since they swarm to them and cant kill them, or they instantly repop. Other then that, bosses melt like snow :). Thanks again! " This isn't a great answer, but I find that if you move next to the source of the Vaal/Undying Aura and spawn minions, they'll attack it. This works well with totems, where you can usually maneuver. Not so great with things like the Jungle Valley boss. All I can recommend is kiting or being very patient with your spell totem. I dual-curse with Temp Chains and Enfeeble to make really nasty packs that might have that aura less of a threat so I can position myself as needed more safely. |

Hey, it is possible to try this build with a One Hand weapon and a Shield?
Or you really need to do this with a 2H Staff ? Btw, the build looks great. | |
hi i think dying breath is quite good for this build since im using it now
im deciding to 5/6L it as end game(switch to +3 once i find one) what do u think:)? |

I also use the method of getting close to mobs/totems with the Undying trait to kill them.
The shield v. staff question was answered a few pages back. I believe the consensus is that a +2 fire staff will be superior to Dying Breath. |

" Your mistake is not using splash in your 5L. Otherwise grats on the very nice gear. Leveling SRS gem to 20 will make a huge difference. All my builds /view-thread/1430399 T14 'real' clearspeed challenge /1642265 Last edited by MatrixFactor#3574 on Aug 24, 2014, 1:28:01 PM

" There is no point in using weapon/shield besides making it easier to cap res. You don't gain much survivability and lose a lot of DPS. All my builds /view-thread/1430399
