Cheap, Tanky, DPSy: Summon Raging Spirit [not updated for 1.3+]

Just got my hands on this staff for only 1c. Gotta love people that can't price staves cause not many people use them. I can even craft another mod on it.

Is cloak of Defiance a good item for this build?

These are the kind of questions you really get annoyed at getting as a build writer. If he read everything he would see me mention cloak of defiance. Also he could answer the question for himself by just thinking a little bit what makes cloak better or worse than rare armors.

Amazing build, just hit level 72 with it. I was lucky that a guildie dropped a level 19 SRS from a gemcutters and he gave it to me for a chaos. Got a cheap 5L staff and rolled +1 fire on it, pretty crappy but damn, nothing can even get close to me.

I decided to self cast Arc and link it with Curse on Hit and Flammability, will add Ele Weakness when I get Whispers of Doom.

I have to admit that I have pretty low life though, just 3.2k, but it's getting better and better with levels and gear upgrades.

Oh man i love this build. It's super safe in HC, because you can pre-cast, cast around corners, cast up/down ledges and even stutter step while running away. Gonna hit Merciless pretty soon in Beyond.

I do like curse on hit arc or ball lightning. It seems like it's great for maps, and it may be good for atziri too since you can double curse the clones effectively with it. The loss of generosity for hatred is probably worth it. The only thing about your gem setup is that I would stick in vaal discipline instead of faster casting into your duration link.

Seems like an interesting and nice dps build but how do you not die with this build in HC with no armor/evasion? Won't you get 1 shotted by mobs such as leapers/archers/physical damage spell users on way to dominus?

First of all I think HC isn't fun, so I don't want to make my build worse by making it super safe for HC.

Second of all, with the final build you have a huge pool of ES+HP on top of AA. With the leveling build you have AA, cwdt immortal call, and MoM from cloak.
