Cheap, Tanky, DPSy: Summon Raging Spirit [not updated for 1.3+]
" Surely it makes sense to drop both the Grave Consequences and Grave Expectation wheels as they add almost nothing, drop a might node and take up Athleticism (yes life is useless, but rest of node well worth it). Then, both the minion damage beside Lord of the Dead and the Elemental Dominion node seem like sure picks, which means that you could drop the Minion Life node and take the Spell Interrupt as your pathway instead. Someone mentioned that Mana will be an issue - will have to be see how this turns out. Without running MoM our mana requirements are a little lower, and we will also be running one less aura (dont think we can sustain them all anymore). It has been mentioned that skills will cost less mana which means that we might be able to run this setup with the three auras of Hatred - Haste - Clarity alongside AA without much of a mana issue. If our mana is a little low i would pick up the mana cluster "Dreamer" which gives a mana and regen boost. I would also add EE, as i play with a arc totem. Taking all of that into consideration, this would be my 110 point CI build: |

Thinking about going CI-SRS in new softcore league. I will play in a team for the first few days (so my initial defense would not need to be very high), and can stand a few deaths until it becomes painful (after level 65/70 or so). Am very experienced, but have never played CI.
For the tree above, what would be the best way to go about this? - How to distribute 40/60/80 points? - When to make the transition to CI? Ideally the transition would remain in my allotment of 18 respec points (or less, when the transition is made earlier). Dear Maligaro,
I left my head in San Francisco, I lost my legs in Peru My liver and kidney are on holiday in Sydney And I am sending my Heart to you --- Love, Malachai |

why everyone take increased effect of flsk nodes and inner force? inner force doesn't work with minions...

What do you think about a 6L Pledge of Hands instead of a +3 staff?
IGN: Std -> Hossina (lv100 Scion)
Talisman -> Voltaxina (lv96 Ranger) GMT +1, Central Europe |

" I've done the numbers, its not close. The difference between level 20 and 30 spell echo is largely irrelevant, I'm not convinced it ever gets to the point where it actually results in an extra skull, and the extra gem isn't worth the large base damage increased by + gem level staff. Lower end it works because it gives the mana regen and I think linked pledge of hands are cheaper than equilivent +3 staffs (+3 staffs sell for like 9 ex last I looked unlinked, thats worth about as much as a 5 link pledge iirc), but if you have the currency +3 staff blows it out of the water Last edited by czartaylor#4853 on Aug 15, 2014, 7:07:25 AM

" Here are my thoughts on making that CI build (i'm by no means an expert though) 40 Points 60 Points 80 Points I would be looking to respec to CI between now and 90 points(Level 65-75 i guess)with a total of 14 respec points needed. 90 Points CI - Pick up EE when desired after 50/60 points depending if you party desires it or not. 106 Points Core Build Complete - Lvl 86 based on Pt/Pt/Pt from Bandits Responding to a question in the thread: why take Inner Force? Mainly to get further benefit from AA, Haste, Clarity. All three are incredibly useful buffs on us and we need them to be working at max benefit. +30% effect on flasks changes Granite etc to about +4000 which is not too bad, especially considering it also increases the effect time, but you are right, not too sure if it is worth the 3 points. |

Does a 15% increased minion damage passive have any benefit to SRS over the 16% increased spell damage passive at the witch start?

"Thank you for your feedback. It's helpful and appreciated. I'll be playing self-found in the hardcore temporary league, so I'm not anticipating having great gear or even a reduced mana gem. After doing some work with Mikelat's aura calculator, I'm re-thinking my plans for taking aura passives. Instead, I'm probably going to run the Discipline aura and that's it. If I get a reduced mana gem, then I'll add in purity of elements, as it's an easily available quest reward. Instead of auras, I'll go for relatively beefy totems and try to keep two of them up. Here's the planned tree:

This is a "quality of life" choice because it streamlines the number of buttons I need to fiddle with on my keyboard, while playing. Bone offering will be the default use for corpses cast with desecrate. Vaal skellies will be for large crowds and bosses; with increased duration they'll hopefully last through many particularly difficult battles. I'd take the Alchemist, Mind Barrier, and Dreamer clusters, if I advance beyond level 89. If I run short of mana, then I'll take the Dreamer cluster ahead of the Zealot's Oath cluster. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes? Hi, this is what I will start with for leveling with Searing Bond past lvl24 till probably lvl60:
From here on I will spec my tree pretty similiar to MatrixFactor's setup. To respecc u will need 11 points, but u will have a strong Searing Bond for quit a while. Be true to yourself and you will never fall. ign @DingOfFire ign @Tormented_Bowjob ign @UmEinharKeinenNamen Last edited by Schlachtviehh#0242 on Aug 15, 2014, 10:45:29 AM

" Increased effect of Flasks I'll leave to personal choice? /shrug Inner Force works with Haste. I'm not sure as to the exact benefit, it may or may not be worth it. Would have to take a closer look. Even if your minions don't get the benefit you would get additional cast speed. (Probably? not worth it for a 3 point investment VS 3 cast speed nodes or something) Would also affect Clarity, maybe AA?, personal buffs with Discipline, etc. It has its uses, but yes I agree its uses are limited in a summoner build. Though I personally will have to take a closer look at it before ruling it out entirely. |
