Auto making a remove-only stash tab a regular tab needs to be stopped

I've never been online during a State of Exile podcast but since Chris is a guest speaker that would give us the perfect opportunity to ask him. I expect to get a vague answer even if it's possible to ask and get him to choose to answer that question at all. But at least I'd could try and give it a shot.

btw. I really, really hate anyone who trolls and says "you get PoE for free" so stop complaining. That is 100% troll bs and worthless. If GGG was expecting us to treat PoE as "free" forever and make 0 microtransactions then they wouldn't have gotten PoE beyond the design stage.

ps. I'm vocal about this because I think PoE has great potential (even though I'll never be a top player) and so I'm a PoE loyalist.

I've wrote some feedback to support and suggested that all we need is a way to choose which RO tab gets activated, because (confirmed by support) right now you cant influence it. Also Gary said he will forward the feedback to the relevant person.

I think this is a fair solution for everybody. RO tabs will slowly be cleared out as is GGG's intention, but we get to choose which ones.

Yes, I mean the whole issue is not a big deal. If it was like this from the beginning, noone would care. I would rather see GGG to take care on gameplay issues than on this.

It is a bit of an annoying thing now, as you really have remove only tabs that are full with crap and can be easily cleared and others with useful stuff like maps, low uniques or whatever else that you want to keep longer instead.

The problem is in fact, that buying another stah tab bundle would create a mess amongst these. You eventually gonna end up having to clear out actually useful remove only tabs while others with trash remain remove only in order to get fresh space for valueables.

Funnily enough, this is another unecessary layer of rng (probably the tabs get moved by the order of acquisition tho).

I just got a post from SneakyPaw in the Daily Deals thread where he pointed out that since all my tabs are premium if I buy a regular Stash Tab Bundle on this weekends sale since I don't have any normal remove-only tabs GGG is not going to downgrade and convert 6 of my premium RO tabs so the 6 regular tabs will have to be added. Then I can upgrade the 6 tabs to premium tabs. Round about way to get new tabs and keep my RO tabs but it should work. Only requirement for this is for GGG to add a 6 pack normal stash tab upgrade for 55 points so the cost is the same and we're all happy and the problem is solved. See, I knew there had to be a solution to this mess.

Ok, GGG Add an Account Features MTX for upgrading 6 normal stash tabs to premium for 55 points and all the negative posts over stash tabs stops permanently.

It was just my luck that I only learned about the technique of using remove-only tabs as long term storage in the post announcing the change that turns remove-only tabs into full-blown tabs when you buy new tabs from the shop.

Initially I thought it was a good idea to do the conversion but as other posters have said eloquently before me, the randomness of the conversion and the inability to buy *empty* tabs is too much of a price to pay.

EDIT: BEHAVIOUR HASN'T CHANGED: buying new premium stash tabs will convert existing remove-only premium tabs to full tabs. I just tried it.

There has to be a low point where some people stop complaining because it's just not worth it, and I have yet to see it. - Squeakypaw, 2013

Tabs used to expire didn't they? Why did they get rid of this?

You complainers do not deserve dozens of free storage space. Either buy more tabs and support this game or make alt accounts and store your items on there.

You chose to play in a temporary league in a free to play game, it is a ridiculous privilege that GGG has let these remove only tabs exist forever.

GGG, please set a time for how long these remove only tabs to last for. I feel bad just having some and it'll really motivate me to organize, sell, vendor the stuff.

I love how GGG tried to bury info about that change in another announcement, and haven't said a word about it since.

Of course when you're buying a new stash, the picture you get to see is still that of an empty tab. Some false adveritising right there.

And fanboys keep mindlessly defending them as always.

Absolutely disgusting.
So here we are again at another stash tab bundle sale weekend. Once more and forever I will be unable to expand my permanent league stash space thanks to GGG changes in stash tab activation, ad-nausea. I have 30 empty full use tabs in the 3 month leagues so I certainly don't need any additional space there. I need additional stash space on my Standard League. I won't play the RNG game with my read-only stash tabs. My bad RNG luck will mean I would get 6 read-only tabs that are over 90% full converted and that is a waste of 165 points ($16.50 USD) so no chance in hell that I'll do that.

again this stash tab bundle...

Yes... forever and ever until either GGG does the right thing and switches it back to added tabs or Chris wants to take all my read-only tabs and unlock them all to get me to go away.

The main problems I have are:

1. We were not informed ahead of time that this change was coming so we couldn't buy more
    before the change took place.
2. Chris and company acknowledges and is ok with us keeping long term stash

The 2nd point is where most of the disagreement arises. Many that are in opposition to my view usually state that GGG does not care about the permanent leagues and only the four 3 month leagues so what does it matter to you or I. If this were true than I wouldn't be posting and this discussion wouldn't be happening. But GGG is always introducing new game features such as strongboxes or corrupt zones or now forsaken masters and those new features that are good migrate to the standard leagues. If GGG really and truly didn't care about the permanent leagues they wouldn't migrate all these wonderful game features over to it and it would be dead to us. So that's not a reason to dismiss the permanent leagues. And oh yes, the most important reason that this is still a very sore issue for me and others, it's Standard and Hardcore League where all our 3 month and race league stash gets moved to so it is only the permanent leagues where the read-only tabs are. If we are not allowed to keep our hard earned loot from a temp league then that would have a very big negative impact on the whole idea that PoE is an arpg for playing not just for a few months but a complex and deep arpg that we can (and should) play over many years of time. I love this about PoE and it blows D3 and RoS away with the depth of play and long term playing experience I get out of PoE.

So I'm on the PoE merry-go-round for the long ride (started playing CB PoE in November 2012) and thus the hours I've enjoyed (mostly) playing PoE is recreational time I personally feel is well spent and thus all the PoE items I choose to keep should be mine to keep forever until I decide when to stop and no one else (not even GGG) should take that away from me. Thus as temp leagues come and go I end up with 30 tabs being dumped into Standard League every 3 months. I always do consolidate and vendor off a lot of stuff but after several temp leagues I still have many read-only tabs that are over 90% full. For me to play the RNG game if I bought another 6 premium tabs (all 30 of my normal tabs are premium, thank you Chris) and hope that the 6 read-only tabs that are RNG chosen to be converted to normal full use premium tabs are not any of the read-only tabs over 90% full is something I'm not willing to do. I want to fund GGG by buying more stash space for my Standard League needs but I'm not going to RNG gamble with $16.50 USD of my money. It's never going to happen. So GGG is losing financially by not adding new stash tabs so that they are 100% empty and ready for me to use as I choose. And I lose the ability to consolidate down my ever growing quantity of read-only tabs. SIGH!!!   :(

TL;DR There, I'm done with my rant.

Whats the point in keeping items you never plan on using or removing from the stash?

people are using these to trade items in standard and then use their standard wealth to boost their temporary league wealth via cross-league trades

having lots and lots of free tabs makes that easier
