Auto making a remove-only stash tab a regular tab needs to be stopped

I'm personally not fond of the idea of "pay to preserve" post league migration. This is coming from somebody who has spent a good chunk of change on PoE, and will continue to do so once I return. I have no problem buying new tabs as I need them, but the idea of being required to, to store progress from another league, just seems wrong to me.

+1 on making read-only tabs unlinkable though.

A "quick swap" option would also be nice, you could have replace your inventory screen with a second stash tab screen and just swap from stash tab to stash tab (any tabs, for that matter, not just read-only, without the redundant steps of unloading to inventory first. Would make account and guild stash organization, for any reason, a lot less of a hassle.

I love GGG and PoE and more power to them if they needed to code it this way to fix a bug or the remove only stash tab system wasn't working the way they planned. Personally I've bought many stash tabs and planned to buy more. I'm not saying I won't now but when I am making the decision this will definitely dissuade me.
I have never seen any other place where people cut a company slack for so much bullshit. Take your blinders off.

If someone currently has 20 filled remove-only tabs and 10 filled stash tabs, the only solution they have to acquire new empty tabs is:

a) buy more than 20 stash tabs
b) delete stuff they may not want to delete

On top of everything, GGG doesn't even let you pick WHICH remove-only tab you want to turn into a normal/premium one. This is either complete ineptness on their part to come up with a competent system (and believe me, this game is full of this stuff), or just a scam they decided to come up with to try to sell some extra tabs to some poor sucker.

This is a BS change, yet another strike against GGG and further proof that we're going into a typical F2P spiral. MTX respecs on Garena (approved of and "justified" by Chris, on top of that), sleazy underhanded methods to force stash tab sales on you... is the game doing that bad that we're now entering this territory? Maybe you should concentrate on balancing all this garbage RNG so that you don't keep losing players and then have to scramble to milk money from the few that remain.

noone is 'forcing' anyone to buy new stash tabs

it removes the 'free tabs' aspect from greedy/tight people in a very delicate way

if someone has 10 paid tabs (as you say) but uses 30 to store stuff 'he might not want to delete' then.. well.. i hope you can see the problem

and biggest part of it is that these remove only tabs in standard are using for trades - not to hoard memorabilia and stuff

im pretty surprised that ggg havent implemented this year ago (or a 'reclaim timer' similar to d3 AH queue)

But whose fault is it that we're playing a trading simulator?

If the problem is that remove-only tabs are being abused for trades, you:

1) Disable linking ingame of items in these tabs
2) Disable linking on the forum

There, problem solved, now to sell the item you'll have to remove it from the tab.

This is a big issue to people with tons of stash tabs, they can't just buy 30 tabs as if it's nothing, not when GGG has been encouraging their use in this way for ages now. And not only that but I'll reiterate that the tab that becomes standard/premium is reported to be RANDOM.

If you guys don't care that's fine, just remember that it's these things that F2P games begin doing before they adopt full-blown models that never benefit the player. They always tell you they have the best interests of the player at heart, in this case we are told that this "happens to also help users who purchase a lot of stash tabs when challenge leagues end and don't want to have to move the items across one at a time." If you buy into this you deserve to be swindled. GGG is a company first and foremost, the fact they make a game we play doesn't elevate them to some godly status where they're free from any sort of criticism. Even the design of the game is meant to take advantage of you, it's unforgiving in its RNG because it's meant to 1) addict you in the long run, and 2) hopefully get you to spend more and more money in that course of time. The funny thing is that this has backfired and the game has horrible player retention as a result.

They were designed as a *temporary* placeholder for race and league item migration. *Not* as a permanent trading tab.

By the way, it is a HUGE pain in the ass to move items one at a time after a league ends. I got so sick of doing it, I just left them there. Although, I don't play standard anyways, but I did still want it somewhat organized.

I'm all for a 'auto delete' expiry timer of remove only tabs along with all the items in it. Will sure streamline the bloated database!
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!
This change is on the same note as legacy items it only affects us standard players while other people who don't even play standard can stand on their high and unaffected horse lecturing us how we're greedy. Because you know having 60 tabs at least half premium makes me greedy. Like I posted in another thread I play standard I like standard and I am a packrat. Only reason I play leagues is the stupid legacy to be uniques. I will never fill 60 tabs in these temporary leagues because even I am not so big of a packrat to duplicate everything every x months so I will have 0 reason to byy tabs. Meanwhile in standard where I do need more tabs I will have to make do because there is no way in hell I will buy 60 more tabs to get space for 1. And at the end of every league I would have to repeat the process. Ggg for some stupid reason wants to kill standard well no thank you, I am sory I have a job 6 days a week I am sorry I can't live and breathe poe like your 20 streamers that get bored of 4 month leagues when I don't even get enough time to build a char I want to play rather than play a boring mf totemer that costs nothing because I have nothing. Thing is I am probably not alone though many have probably quit over time because of things meant to discourage standard play. Meh
I play standard.

And i fully support this change and i think that by forcing people to sort their stuff properly ggg might make standard 'economy' a little less bloated with hoarded sh.. stored in RO shops

I bet making these tabs unlinkable would have solved it immediatelly as people are using it permanently because
1 they dont care about standard at all
2 play leagues but sell standard items for that cross league trade leverage

I think that it is 5/95 ratio between these two.

People making real money via poe dont really care sadly because they still can link items from RO tabs.. and dont play the game anyway.
