1.3 The Community's Molten Strike, Face Melting Build!! 1h+shield and 2h variants available

Kompanient,

PM me directly and we can see what we can do about fixing your build. Also you can contact me in game. Standard league is pretty rough on purchasing gear so I can see why you had to pay so much for your Doryani's. How much do divines cost? I would suggest trying those on your weapon first as a low roll Doryani is not much better then an average rare but a high roll Doryani is liking wielding a 2h weapon.

A fire doryani's belt or a carnage heart might allow you to drop the LL gem to swap in faster attacks (for CH) or Fire pen (for AoF). I don't like this option as we are just through $$ at it for an easier fix. I would first try and reroll your stats before though on your catalyst. It is a gamble, it could roll perfect or it could roll 1% better. I personally would go for it.

I don't run any quality gems and I am still leveling them up a bit as well. Getting level 20 gems wont matter to much, though 20% quality on things like multi will be a huge boost for any melee build. It is an upgrade I would not bother with unless you truly want to min/max your character.

Running flammability as mentioned before will boost your damage quite a bit and enfeeble is good to run vs hard encounters. I don't even bother with flammability right now personally as my kill speed is great without it.

This man right here. I am 84 with 3dragons/lioneye's setup. It's very good, don't get me wrong, but what Arsenaldo outlined in his post is exactly what I would do instead if I could.

It is a better set up but only plays out after a 6L armor set up. This is why it has not been brought up as much as we are targeting the more common, average wealth, player :)

Tips and tricks for fighting merciless Dominus with this build?

Honestly it depends on your stats. I face tank merc dom and run a topaz flask. Stay out of shock.

Going for a more safe play I would do hit and run as others have mentioned. Depending on your damage you should be able to out heal his lightning attack if you are no in the shocked ground. Topaz flask helps here as well. I generally pound on him during this part and when he is doing nothing I chip at him since I would not want to get stuck in an attack animation when he goes for his super punch. 4K+ HP should be able to just eat it though... not advised for HC players

phase 2 just keep a remove bleeding potion on you and beat him to death.

Can someone who is also using doryaini sceptre show what their tooltip dps is?
Interested in 4-links, 5 links and 6 links. Using a 5 link lightning coil myself.

Also now that i think about it. Flammability would be a good curse. But temporal chains might be even better because it increases shock duration from what i understand.

Here is the tooltip for Molten Strike w/ Hatred

Here are my passives so far.

No wonder my clearing speed is so slow. You do over 9k tooltip dps and i do just 3500. If tooltip dps even means anything for this build.

Err don't really see why you are doing 3 times more dps. Ah it could be faster attacks instad of life leech and carnage heart. Gonna try that setup. Saw that Kartikdon recommended it as well. Tempest shiels is a good addition too!

Added a link to The Community Flame Surge, just posted.

Added a small bit on high level sustain choices allowing us to drop LL for extra dmg support gem. Will add more detail and give credit to Arsenaldo - out of time to complete this section right now.

I have a little bit of damage on my gear, my gems are leveled and a bit of Attack Speed. That could be the reason.
Sorry if this was clearly posted before, but I need to ask if the cwdt (max) means max level or max quality :)

And.. why not cwdt+endurcry+enfeeble instead of 2 cwdt?

Hit level 76 today! I'm going the 2H route and I'm mostly demolishing things. Just have to get my 6 link chest to add concentrated affect.
finally completed the dynamic duo of items for MS - got my Fire Belt, Thanks Arsenaldo :) to go with my Doryani Catalyst

2% fire leech - dropped my carnage heart and replaced it with my old rare for now. Picked up AoF again and have perfect sustain and even better damage.
Heya,

Love this thread! There are some really great suggestions in here that have helped me decide to basically do a full respec and try a serious MS build.

I've been doing a TON of testing with MS and I believe the best option for maximizing not only DPS but also life leech is...

1) Faster Attacks
2) Multistrike
3) Concentrated Effect
4) Blood Magic
5) Life Leech (if you're brave and farming trash you can swap for WED)
6) Molten Strike

Why Concentrated effect instead of WED?

I believe concentrated effect will make Point Blank more effective by making the projectiles stay closer to the Maximum 50% more damage range (balls are 5-20 range...PB has to be within 10 units to be 50% more damage). Conc Effect with -30% area radius should bring the ball range to a maximum range of 14 instead of 20..correct me if I'm wrong. This allows more projectiles to hit the same target (or a cluster of targets), and leech more life because the balls are doing more damage, while maximizing the full potential of PB.

Using WED does have a very similar damage output because it's also effecting the initial hit. However I believe in a long boss fight PB + Conc effect is safer and does a little more damage.

Why not AoF?

I don't see a reason to go AoF especially since I don't use WED, and I leech 10% of the physical damage as life anyway. Although not much, that's still more survivability for me!

Conclusion:

Even with the Life Leech gem and some non-leveled gems, I pull about 80k resolute technique DPS while maintaining 7.1k hp (no kaoms :-( & 250 hp/sec regen). Theoretically it should be about 85k when it's all said and done.

Weapon I use for reference:

If something is wrong please tell me! I am having a lot of fun with it and it has made PoE a lot more entertaining :)

As far as using Doryani's Catalyst goes, would you need a max level CwDT for the level 20 supported Ele Prolif to work? I'm assuming so, just wanted to clarify :)
