Hi aimlessgun I have a quick question.If I only have good armour based gear with hp on it and Im too poor to invest in ES based items how survivable would I be?

In the progress builds you have 3x +5% elemental dmg at shadow start tree + 3x8% projectile damage. in the finished lvl90 build you changed to 3x cast speed. now witch is better ? :)

" Cast speed is much better without a doubt. I don't remember exactly how much, but it takes quite a bit of +%ele damage to equal 1% inc cast speed. |

" is geofris not good? i bought it just because of the quad resists though their a bit low.. maybe i'll let it go once i get the +elem resist passives.. with regards to the MF gear, the reason i'm wearing them is because i don't have better equip at the moment and i don't have currency to purchase upgrades as well.. gear with high hp and 2-3 resists seem to cost an exalt and above.. same goes for gear with high ES.. and just a question, will it be better to be on pure ES gear or can i go AR/ES? if ever i will go on pure ES, how much ES is acceptable to compensate for the lack of armor? |

" Armor would mean a Kripp style gem setup to do it, which actually works well with the passive tree you've proposed. So it would be FP, LMP, Life Leech, Blood Magic, Faster Casting, Added Lightning. I personally don't know if you will have enough HP to do this without going to the marauder area (or having Kaoms/Shiver) like in Kripps build, but seems like it could work. " 1% cast speed is generally worth around 2% spell damage, so 3% cast speed is better than 5% dmg, but the 5% dmg nodes are to get the 8% projectile nodes, so it ends up at 6.5% dmg per point, about equal. Either way is fine but I specced out of the ele/projectile nodes to free up 3 points for more defense at some point (probably in the mid 80s when dying started to really really suck >.> ) |

" Geofris is fine, and puting your spell totem on it was a good move, but it just adds up with all the other pieces of no HP gear. If Geofris and Maligaros are the only peices with no HP, that's alright though (but a great rare is better). I'm a bit lost
is this a possible upgrade from this for a cold crit caster? I'm downgrading damage from 930 - 815 on a lmp ice spear and 880 - 800 on lmp totem freezing pulse, but the critical chance is much better. I'm not sure if the tooltip is accommodating for higher chance of criticals in the damage calculations or not. IGN: AlCohonez, GhengizCohen

Any suggestions for better survivability level 49 Act 3 cruel? I am finding my self quickly, very quickly not able to freeze stuff before it just outright clobbers me. I think its more of a survivability over a dps or crit chance issue but here are my stats and equips. Meaning I personally do not believe my DPS or my Crit chance / Multiplier are low. I feel like it has something to do with my evasion. I almost think running grace would be a better substitute for Discipline.
Obviously I am running the skele totem but honestly 90% of the time I die the skele totem did absolutely nothing. Either the mob's ignore the skeles or kill the totem before it starts creating the skeles and the time that it takes between my clicking the key and the totem actually appear is when I get wrecked as they're hitting me at that point. maybe try frostwall (even with a totem)? you can pulse / spear through it, helps when you're about to get wrecked, I also use 2x 40% speed flasks throughout the game and it helps a lot, I went all CI and had around 1.7-2k at act 3 cruel
if you're feeling wimpy currently you can try putting FP on a totem and go lmp ice spear, might help you survive for longer also, I would go either pure es, es / armour or es / evasion, not sure if dividing across all three is good in terms of survivability IGN: AlCohonez, GhengizCohen

" Well right now I am es/evasion but that is purely based on the gear that I have gotten. If I could make my gear pure es I probably would. Trying out your frostwall suggestion with totem, seems pretty cool. Works better than I would have thought it would. An oustanding issue with the frostwall though is that it pushes the mob away and as they become further away and more spread out the less effective FP is, and who wants to single target normal mobs with ice spear?
