thoughts on the new power charge on crit support?

hey guys.. I m lvl 60 and I cant progress.. trying to farm at docks.. but those voidbears are destroying me.. any tips ??

Thanks for the tips Aimless, I crafted some daggers and an amulet and came up with these two

Should I keep trying to find a good amulet or just regal this one? I don't do much trading but I feel like I could just buy a better one with that regal :P

Also found a new 5link armour so in the end I got a 1k dps upgrade and lost a bit of ES, a little step forward. I'm missing some quality gems though, and judging by the cost they seem to go for it looks like I'm a very long way from ever reaching 10k dps lol

Uh some gems are on other characters. Pretend there's an IIQ gem in the 6l :p Also the gem setup is not ideal but I'm stealing that 6l from my archer and don't want to mess with the socket colors.

You don't have enough resists. Farm City of Sarn until you get better res, dont farm docks without 75% fire res.

Hey pretty good! I'd regal the amulet, that's a good life roll and a nearly max crit dmg roll.

I luckily bought all my quality gems before Kripp made a FP character :/ They are pretty expensive.

Hey aimless, I have followed your guide to a T and am at lvl73 right now and loving it, by far one of the best builds I have played on PoE, so thanks again for that!

My question this time is, which shield would you use if you had the options I do. with the spell crit shield my dps is about 34-- but with the unique my tooltip dps drops to about 32-- but I gain the 10% extra health, and about 240 extra ES, just cant decide which would be better

(im close to getting doom cast (the 60% spell crit node) so I could just grab that to make up some of the spell crit I assume?...would that node effect tooltip dps?)

Nevermind xD. I chose the unique, made it 3link and dropped my zombies for skellies in a totem.
I just made up the spell crit loss of the old shield with Doom Cast and a new dagger with higher spell crit. All in all, more defenses, a little more HP/ES and landed back at 34--DPS.

Man I love this build! O.o

now that power charge on crit is out, how would you modify the buidl to benefit it? thx

Running it through my handy dandy spreadsheet...(using my gear since it's convenient, assuming a 5l though). I'm going to move points around from my current build without giving up defensive nodes. Replacing Added Chaos with PCoC, keeping the core of LMP/Faster Cast/Faster Proj( though replacing faster proj is a solid option though since the mana cost on PCoC is very low).

Current build: 10,086 DPS tooltip

5 power charges, no Alira reward: -800 DPS
6 charges w/ Alira reward: -600 DPS

6 charges, no Alira reward: -800 DPS
7 charges, Alira reward: -600 DPS

Basically the upshot is, you trade a bit (6-8% in my case) of your DPS for ~11-16% more crit. This can be a good trade because it makes your damage more consistent, as well freezing more often. However, keeping the charges up without the duration increasing passives can be pretty annoying.

If you have solid mana regen and a good mana pool for potions, its a pretty sick 6th link since it's only 10% more mana cost, while other options might be impossible to run effectively. If I could change the links on my chest (sigh) I would definitely try out BBBBGG to see if I could use it instead of mana leech.

Alternately, you can stick it on Ice Spear, which should have over 90% crit at long range and 100% once you get the charges up. The problem with this is it makes managing the charges even more tedious, and one Ice Spear will only have a 49% chance of refreshing the stack on a lvl 20 PCoC.

Plans to upgrade the shield and amulet, soon. the amulet I intend on using until 75+ is simply because thatll max all my res out.

I have about 1400hp, 900 es give or take 50 pts.

Is this build progressing properly for me? Feel like I should have more Es/hp, but at this point it is becoming very hard to upgrade.

Im just trying to prep myself for vaal/piety and maps. Obviously I need a better chest, but I probably could worry about that later right?
